THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

By Robert Frost

The first emotion is "sorrow," as he or she regrets the reality that makes it
impossible to travel both roads, or to experience both things. The poem
makes clear that every choice involves the loss of opportunity and that
choices are painful because they must be made with incomplete
information. It can also be described as nostalgic. While the poem
describes two roads in a wood, the speaker seems to be reflecting on a
time in his life where he had an important decision to make.

The Road Not Taken relates to my life because the two roads symbolize
the moment when I face the dilemma of having to choose one thing instead
of another in life. It talks about choosing the path which we decide for our
future and our destination. The roads represent the problem of decision-
making. We sometimes suffer because of our choices and decisions. We
find ourselves in such situations at every step in our lives. Out of the
available options, we have to choose the one that may take us to our
destination.
