The working that our elastic car design will be like when you wind up the car’s axle

you stretch
the rubber band and store potential energy. When you release it the rubber band starts to
unwind, and the potential energy is converted to kinetic energy as the car is propelled forward.
The more you stretch the rubber band, the more potential energy is stored, and the farther and
faster the car should go.

Several things can prevent your car from working well. If the wheels are not aligned properly,
they can wobble or jam and prevent the car from rolling smoothly. The rubber band can slip
relative to the wooden axle, preventing the wheels from spinning. Even if the wheels do spin,
there might not be enough friction with the ground, causing them to spin in place without moving
the car. These are all challenges you can overcome with a little engineering effort.

The design of the elastic band car we built on solid works can be used as a cart which provides
solution to transport goods from one place to another.

When you first start designing your car, make sure you know all of the features it will need:
 First and foremost, you will need a way to bind together your chassis. I used small ridges
on the sides that insert into slots on the other pieces. These were glued together, but
you can use another, more stable way that involves bolts and nuts. Make sure your
dimensions are precise, or you will end up having to do a lot of filing, or worse, redo the
parts entirely.
 Next you will need the side pieces that go above the wheels and help hold the car
together. Create circles for the wheel channels, and use lines to extend them upwards,
moving the chassis closer to the ground.
 In between these side pieces, make two parts with holes in them that line up with the
wheels. These will hold the pencils used for the axles in place, and also help with overall
stability.
 Create a smaller version of the wheel to act as a bracer for the axle.
 For the back and front pieces that hold the robot together, don't forget to make a slot for
the rubber band to mount onto, as shown. Only one of them will hold the rubber band,
but this way, it can be reversed if one of the sides breaks.
 Last step will be that place a cart at the top so it can be used for transport purposes.
