Kings School Parents:
This is an important message for Kings School Parents. We want to make you aware of
anincident that occurred this morning on our campus at the start of the school day. We
noticed a car that did not belong parked across our driveway this morning. A black 4-door
Audi sedan was observed taking pictures of our surroundings and the front of the building.
Mr. Lamb went outside to ask the individual what he was doing and to move his car.
Immediately after the person was approached he moved his car, and drove away. The
sheriffs department was notified and began an investigation. The sherrif's department
informed us that the same car was seen at two other area schools this morning.
The school has since been in contact with the sheriff's department and have been informed
that the vehicle has not been located at this time. The sheriff's department will be
increasing patrol in the area as a precautionary measure. The school will increase
supervision as well to ensure student safety. In the meantime, we encourage you to
discuss these safety tips with your children:
e Students should walk in groups, not alone.
Students should avoid distractions, such as cell phones, and pay attention to their
‘surroundings.
e Students approached by a stranger should run away and seek help from others.
® Students should immediately report any incident that makes them uncomfortable.
Please know that we take these situations very seriously. The safety of our students is
always our absolute top priority. If you see any suspicious activity or have any information
on this incident, please contact the Ogle County Sheriffs Department immediately.
f you have any questions, please call our office at (815)562-7191.
Sincerely,
Matthew Lamb, Superintendent
