3D Weather Station to cut out and assemble

for Rommix’ weather variant – graphic design PunTheHun

General assembly instructions:

• In addition to these sheets you need some 1 to 1.5 mm cardboard the size of a standard
Rallyman GT track tile plus a bit of extra cardboard to reinforce part of page 3. Because the
forms to cut out on page 3 are not simple take care that the cardboard is not too heavy, i. e.
too difficult to cut with a scalpel.
• Print page 1 + 2 on 160 g/m2 cardboard and page 3 on a self-adhesive sheet.
• You also need one 3 mm brass fastener plus a thin 3-mm washer.
• Black numbers are part numbers, blue numbers are optional parts, red numbers show where
the part of that number connects to. An “X” means “cut or punch this out, it is a hole”.
• Score dashed lines with a needle or a blunt knife, then cut along the black outlines. It may be
a good idea to transfer the part number to the back of each part to avoid confusion later on.
The few fold lines marked “x” fold towards you (“valley fold”), all others away from you (“ridge
fold”).
• Use scissors or a scalpel knife to cut parts. The model looks much better if you colour the cut
edges with a soft pencil, felt-tipped pen or water colours (before applying glue).
• Use any clear or PVA glue.

Order of assembly:
1. Reinforce the parts indicated on page 3 with 1 to 1.5 mm cardboard.
2. Cut out a track tile shape from 1.5 mm cardboard.
3. Glue that cardboard tile shape to the back of part 1 (base), fold the triangular tabs around and
glue them to the back. Cover the back of the tile with part 2.
4. Glue part 4 on top of part 3 (roof). Optional: glue parts 4a/b on top for a 3D effect.
5. Fold both parts 3a (air vents) and glue them to the roof (part 3) where indicated.
6. Fold part 5 and glue it to the back of the folded météo wall of part 3. This part stabilises the
wall; it is necessary because the wall does not connect to the base (part 1).
7. Optional: Add doors, windows and advertising boards (parts 6a) to the walls (part 6) as
desired for a light 3D effect.
8. Fold part 6 (outer walls) and glue them to the floor (part 1). Note that the outer tabs fold
towards you. Fold part 6a and glue it to the floor and to part 6 to complete the walls.
9. Glue either part 1b or part 1a to the base (part 1).
10. Cut out the indicator (part 8) and punch a 3 mm hole where indicated. Fold and glue the grid
girl supports (9a, 9b) onto the indicator.
11. Cut out the grid girls (your choice of different parts 10a, 10b) and glue them to the Indicator
and the supports. The base line of the girls should be flush with the bottom of the indicator
part.
12. Connect the indicator assembly to the base with the brass fastener and washer.
13. Glue the roof (pre-assembled parts 3/4/5) to the hut.
14. Optional: Add billboards (parts 11.*) to the eaves line as desired.

You are done!
