Module 1 – Task 2

 Why is there a need for man to be humanized? (In the context of humanism)

Humans without the context of Humanism is just a soulless entity roaming around the
world with nothing but selfishness and brutality inside its head. But when a person knows and
understands what being humanized is, this completely changes the perspective of a person.
According to Copson A. (2015). Humanism or being humanized is a set of beliefs in which
mankind achieves a set of moral standards through reasoning rather than following a divine
being. At some point, this intellectual style is assumed as being connected with Atheism as it
puts the welfare of the humanities first rather than following the will of God. Furthermore, the
basis of seeking truth in this belief is only through scientific methods, scepticism and other
techniques that are supported only by facts and statements rather than miracles, superstitions
other religious beliefs.

After going through the context of the need to be humanized. I’ve learned that there will
be times in which we are put in a situation where two beliefs; religion and reality will be
contradicting. Thus, the importance of the concept of Humanism here is that it enables us to free
from any kind of ties of belief that we have. Giving us the opportunity to freely decide whether
what we are going to choose from. The keypoint here is that the basis of this context is humanity;
it puts first everything that encompasses humanity including welfare, wisdom and well-being.
Men need to be humanized simply for the fact that humans make the world go round. As years
go by, we multiply and if we are going to let greed and selfishness reign by disregarding our
moral values. Our efforts to make this place a peaceful one to live in will go to waste.
