NOTABLE INCIDENTS
‘On 5th July a fre broke out on Deck 10 of the Fo-Ro garages aboard
Grimalci Line's 47,282g02011-built Con-Ro ship Grande Costa
DrAvorio whilst she was alongside at the Port of Newark in New
Jersey. The fre quickly spread to Decks 11/12 which were all loaded
with vehicles, Tragically, Newark firefighters Augusto “Augie" Acabou
‘and Wayne "Bear" Brooks Jr. died fighting the blaze. Firefighters
\wore intially forced to retreat in the intense heat. Five other fire-
