PRACTICAL WORK 1

1- Find two correctly designed paragraphs describing a city (they can be from the same source or not). You can
use the paragraph that you have already analysed from HOMEWORK 1 (only if it meets the required
characteristics). You can look for these paragraphs in books or the Internet (a reliable source). You can’t use
materials for teaching English or writings from previous assignments.
2- Write the outline of each paragraph.
3- In each paragraph, mark and identify a simple sentence, a compound sentence and a complex sentence.
4- In each paragraph find examples of present tenses and indicate their uses and functions.
5- Find one example of each type of connector.
6- Provide a GLOSSARY. A glossary is made up of new words that you found in the paragraph and that you had to
look up in your English-English dictionary.
7- Cite the sources.
8- DEADLINE: May 30th. Deadline means that after that date, I won’t consider it for the percentage of practical
works you need to pass.
