Call for Papers for Supplement: Intersectoral collaboration and


integrative governance on the road for health in all policies

This call for papers is jointly organised by the journal Health Policy and Planning and the
organizer of the Eight Global Symposium on Health Systems Research – Health Systems Global.

Accepted papers will be published to be presented at a special journal supplement of the 8th
Global Symposium on Health Systems Research to be held in Nagasaki, Japan from 18 to 22
November 20 2024.

This supplement will focus Intersectoral collaboration and integrative governance on the road
for health in all policies. We particularly welcome research that appraise intersectoral
collaboration in the following areas: The Environment and Health; Nutrition; Urban Health;
School Health; Universal Health Coverage and primary health care; WASH; One Health; and
Humanitarian crisis and migration. This list is not exclusive.

Original research articles as well as review papers are invited. We particularly welcome papers
that not only analyse problems but seek to provide solutions and insights into a path forward
that improves health systems performance.

Full manuscripts should be submitted to the journal by 30 September 2023 through the
submission link on the journal website. During the submission process please note your paper
is to be considered as part of this special issue.

Papers that receive positive reviews but are not deemed suitable for this supplement, may be
considered for individual publication in Health Policy and Planning.

It is our aim that at minimum 60-70% of papers will come from a low- and/or middle-income
country author, listed as the first author on the paper.

The supplement is funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The views
expressed in the journal supplement do not necessarily reflect the views of the donor
organizations.

This journal supplement aims to provide a more in-depth understanding of the role, process
and impact of intersectoral collaboration in health in low- and middle-income countries. All
papers published as part of the IDRC and Health Systems Global sponsored supplement will be
Open Access.
