To: All Holders of Unsecured Claims (“Voting Creditors”) Entitled to Vote on the Second Amended Joint
Chapter 11 Plan of Renovate America, Inc., et al.
The Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (the “Official Committee”) of Renovate America, Inc. et
al. (the “Debtors”) submits this letter to all creditors entitled to vote (“Voting Creditors”) on the Debtors’ Second
Amended Combined Disclosure Statement and Joint Chapter 11 Plan (as it may be altered, amended, modified or
supplemented from time to time, including in accordance with its terms, any Plan Supplement, the Bankruptcy
Code or the Bankruptcy Rules, the “Plan”). The Official Committee represents the interests of general unsecured
creditors such as yourself. Over the last several months the Committee has been engaged in complex and hard-
fought negotiations to formulate a plan of reorganization that would provide the best outcome for unsecured
creditors under difficult circumstances. The attached Plan is the result of those efforts.
We are writing to you today regarding the solicitation of Ballots to accept or reject the Plan, which you are
receiving from the Debtors. The Official Committee has unanimously agreed to support the Plan. This decision
was made after carefully considering several factors, including, among other things, the estimated distribution to
creditors and the funds set aside to ensure access to loan information for homeowners who obtained financing
through the Debtors. Upon concluding its due diligence review, the Official Committee has determined that it is
appropriate to support the Plan and to provide this letter in support of the Plan. (Please note: This letter is sent
solely by the Official Committee and has not been approved by the Bankruptcy Court.)
Under the facts and circumstances of this case, the Official Committee believes that confirmation of the
Plan is in the best interest of the Debtors’ general unsecured creditors and recommends that you vote to ACCEPT
the Plan. Notwithstanding this recommendation, you must make your own independent determination as to
whether the Plan is acceptable to you and should consult your own legal and/or financial advisor(s).
The Official Committee urges all Voting Creditors, before voting, to read and review, carefully and in its
entirety, the Plan, including the discussion of the risk factors related to the Plan, and all other documents submitted
to you by the Debtor. This communication does not constitute, and shall not be construed, as a recommendation or
solicitation by any individual member of the Official Committee.
The Voting Deadline is August 31, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. (ET). Please complete and submit your Ballots in
accordance with the instructions contained in the solicitation package so that they are received no later than the
Voting Deadline. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding the Plan and the foregoing.

anteriormente.
Atentamente,
Consejo del Comité Oficial de Acreedores Quirografarios de Renovate America, Inc., y otros.

HOMEOWNER NOTICE
What is a chapter 11 plan? Renovate America, Inc. (“RAI”) and Personal Energy Finance, Inc.
(“PEFI”) are in bankruptcy. They do not have enough money to pay all their debts in full. Their
chapter 11 plan (“Plan”) provides for all of RAI and PEFI’s remaining assets to be put into a trust
for the benefit of creditors. Under the Plan, the trustee will sell any remaining assets, pursue
litigation claims, and distribute the cash proceeds to creditors. The Plan includes a “Disclosure
Statement,” which gives additional information about the bankruptcy case.
Am I entitled to vote on the Plan? Yes. You filed a proof of claim stating that RAI or PEFI owes
you money, meaning that you are a “creditor” and are entitled to vote to accept or reject the Plan.
What is the Homeowner Convenience Class? What will I receive if my claim is in the
Homeowner Convenience Class? Under the Plan, up to $800,000 will be designated to pay claims
in a special group called the Homeowner Convenience Class (“HC Class”). Your claim will
automatically be part of the HC Class unless you opt out.
In the HC Class, if you filed a proof of claim stating that you are owed $10,000 or less,
your claim will automatically be allowed in the amount on your proof of claim form. You
do not have to do anything to prove the amount or validity of your claim.
If you filed a proof of claim stating that you are owed more than $10,000, your claim will
automatically be allowed in the amount of $10,000. Again, you do not have to do anything
to prove the amount or validity of your claim.
You will not receive the full allowed amount of your claim. The allowed amount of your claim
establishes your share of the money designated under the Plan for the HC Class (up to $800,000).
Your share of the money is determined by dividing the allowed amount of your claim by the total
amount of all claims in the HC Class.
For example, suppose there are claims in the HC Class totaling $20,000,000, and your claim is
allowed in the amount of $10,000. Your share of the total HC Class money would be $10,000 ÷
$20,000,000, which equals a 0.05% share. If the maximum amount of $800,000 is available, you
would receive a check for $400 (0.05% of $800,000). If $500,000 is available, you would receive
a check for $250 (0.05% of $500,000).
YOUR ACTUAL RECOVERY WILL DEPEND ON THE AMOUNT OF YOUR
ALLOWED CLAIM, THE TOTAL CLAIMS IN THE HC CLASS, AND THE TOTAL
MONEY AVAILABLE FOR THE HC CLASS. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT ANY
MONEY WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE HC CLASS.
In addition, the Plan provides for the creation of a Homeowner Data Archive, which will contain
information about homeowners’ HERO assessments, including property owner applications,
underwriting documents, assessment contracts, contractor information, completion certificates,
telephone call recordings and other information. If you are part of the HC Class and you need
documents or information regarding your HERO assessment for any reason, the Homeowner Data
Archive administrator will provide it to you free of charge.
Where does the money for the Homeowner Convenience Class come from? The trustee may
pursue litigation claims against RAI and PEFI’s former officers and directors and other insiders.
Case 20-13172-LSS Doc 646 Filed 08/05/21 Page 81 of 184
Some of those claims may be covered by insurance. Once the trustee recovers $400,000 (after
payment of expenses), the next $1.6 million of proceeds will be split evenly between general
unsecured creditors and the HC Class. So, for example, if the trustee recovers a total of $2.0 million
from the lawsuits (after payment of expenses) $800,000 will be set aside for the HC Class. If the
trustee recovers $1.0 million (after payment of expenses), $300,000 will be set aside for the HC
Class. There is no guarantee that the trustee’s lawsuits will be successful.
How do I opt out of the Homeowner Convenience Class? If you don’t want your claim to be
treated as part of the HC Class, check the box on the enclosed ballot next to the statement “Elect
to irrevocably opt out of the Homeowner Convenience Class and be treated as a General Unsecured
Claim.”
What happens to my claim if I opt out of the Homeowner Convenience Class? If you opt out
of the HC Class, your claim will not automatically be allowed. An objection to your claim may be
filed. If an objection is filed, you must file a response with the Bankruptcy Court, or your claim
will be disallowed.
After you file your response, you may be required to participate in special Claims Resolution
Procedures, which are described in the Plan Supplement. The purpose of the Claims Resolution
Procedures is to try to reach a settlement as to the allowed amount of your claim.
If a settlement cannot be reached, the Bankruptcy Court will hold a hearing, in which you or your
lawyer must participate, to determine the allowed amount of your claim. You will need to present
evidence proving the validity and amount of your claim. The Bankruptcy Court may disallow your
claim, meaning that you will receive nothing under the Plan.
If the Bankruptcy Court allows part or all of your claim, you will receive a share of the money
available for general unsecured creditors. You will not receive the full allowed amount of your
claim. Your share will be determined by the amount of your allowed claim, divided by the total
amount of allowed general unsecured claims. The total amount of allowed general unsecured
claims, and the total amount of money that will be available to pay those claims, are both unknown
at this time.
In addition, if you opt out of the HC Class, you will not receive free access to the Homeowner
Data Archive. Instead, if you want to obtain information about your HERO assessment from the
Homeowner Data Archive, you will have to pay a fee of $50.
Will there be releases granted to parties in interest as part of the Plan? How do I opt out of
granting a release? Yes, the Plan includes limited releases of RAI, PEFI, their lenders, the Official
Committee of Unsecured Creditors, and related attorneys, financial advisors and other
professionals. If you vote to accept the Plan, you are also voting to grant the releases, unless you
either check the box on the enclosed ballot next to the statement “Opt Out of the Releases in Article
XIII of the Plan” or file an objection to the releases contained in the Plan. You will not be granting
a release if you vote to reject the Plan or just don’t vote timely at all.
What is the deadline to vote on the Plan? To be counted, your ballot must be received by 4:00
p.m. E.T. on August 31, 2021.
Case 20-13172-LSS Doc 646 Filed 08/05/21 Page 82 of 184
How do I vote for or against the Plan? Fill out the enclosed ballot and return it to Renovate
America, Inc., et al., c/o Stretto, 410 Exchange, Suite 100, Irvine CA 92602. Or you can vote
online through the ballot submission portal located at https://cases.stretto.com/renovateamerica.
Does the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors recommend voting in favor of the Plan?
One of the Committee’s important roles is to look out for the interests of homeowners in this
bankruptcy case. The Committee believes that the Plan provides a better chance of recovery for
homeowners than any other available alternative. The Committee also believes that it is important
for homeowners to have access to information about their PACE assessments through the
Homeowner Data Archive. The Committee recommends that homeowners vote in favor of the
Plan.
What is a confirmation hearing? To approve the Plan, the Bankruptcy Court will hold a public
hearing, called a “Confirmation Hearing,” on September 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. E.T. You do not
need to go to court unless you want to object to the Plan.
How do I get more information about the Plan? You can obtain a copy of the Second Amended
Combined Plan and Disclosure Statement and the Plan Supplement at
https://cases.stretto.com/renovateamerica, or by emailing or calling RAIInquiries@stretto.com /
(855) 432-5822.
Stretto is the notice and claims agent in the bankruptcy case. It is not authorized to, and will not,
provide legal advice. If you believe you need legal advice, you should consult with your attorney.
If you are low-income or elderly, you may qualify for free or reduced-cost legal assistance from a
legal services provider.
