MIG21MF
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION
GENERAL TIPS.
The proposed model is a 1:32 scale paper replica of Egyptian Air Force, Mikoyan-Gurevitch
MIG 21 MF #8460 based at Manzilla (Nile Delta region) 1981.
It could be difficult to build for less experience models builders.
The most difficult parts are main landing gear and transparent canopy.
Before starting the work on the model, study carefully the assembly Instruction drawings which,
in addition to describing the assembly process, also show the order in which the model should
be assembled.
The parts of this kit are also numbered in the sequence in which they should be used.
Do not hurry with gluing. Try to imagine the shape and purpose of every element. Shape every
element to the exact and perfect fit before using glue .
PRINTING:
This model kit can be printed on every computer printer.
Three things however are very important to print it correctly.
1-Every page with a model parts need to be printed in the same scale.
What it means is that your printer have to be set up to print pages with out scaling them down or up.
2-To avoid color differences every page of this model need to be printed using same ink
cartridge set.
3-Do not rush with printing.

ASSEMBLY:
Model building process starts with the cutting out all parts of pages 1 and 2
and gluing them to the cardboard .
Then cut them out again and pair all parts of fuselage frame by numbers like:
Ia and Ib, IIa and IIb all the way to XIIa and XIIb( Fig.1).
NOTE: Parts 17a ,17b and 18a is one set and also parts 25a and 45 is another set and should
be group together
Next you need to make sure both parts in each pair are identical which is very
important in fuselage final look.
I always grind each pair with sandpaper a little bit so two ribs looks like one.
After this operation you can start with assembly of fuselage.
General example of how to assemble each segment of the fuselage is shown in fig.2
of assembly instruction while fig.3 to fig.9 illustrates how and in which order the
assembly of this model fuselage should be done.
Pay particular attention to the assembly of part 3 , 6 and 11 and associated parts.
These are the hardest segments but you can simplify it by building model with close
undercarriage and with out clear canopy.
During the construction of hull pay attention to the symmetry of subsequent elements.
Assembly of the pilot's seat and canopy illustrates Fig.10 and 11 and these are the last elements
of the fuselage.
Aircraft tail and wings are next, Fig.12 to Fig. 14. These are not difficult elements,
but a bit more attention should be paid in construction of landing parachute
and rudder and elevator tips . As in the case of fuselage symmetry is essential.
Fig.15 illustrates assembly of nose undercarriage and associated parts like nose wheel
and nose bay doors while Fig.16 shows the same with main undercarriage .
Assembly of pylons show Fig.17 and 18 while Fig.18 illustrate additional parts used only
on outboard pylon. Fuselage pylon and missile rails have same construction like wing pylons.
The next step are small details shown on Fig.19 (bottom of airplane),Fig.20 (front of airplane)
and Fig.21 (wings and sides of an airplane).
Finally external fuel tank , missiles and bombs (Fig.22 to 25).
The proper way of installing weapon on Mig 21 illustrate Fig.23.
Congratulation , You just finish buildig model of Mig 21.
