A. DEFINITION OF BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION QUALITY GUARANTEE

Quality assurance or Quality Assurance =


QA is all activities aimed at ensuring the
quality of laboratory examinations or
precision and accuracy of laboratory
examinations. Quality monitoring activities
consist of Internal Quality Monitoring and
External Quality Monitoring (Professional
Testing).
One quality approach is Quality
Management Science (QMS), which
introduces a model known as Five-
Q.

EXAMINATION RESULTS

1. Personnel The ability of laboratory technicians is related to the


quality of education and training, expertise, experience and
employment conditions.
2. Environment The workspace should be light enough, light
enough, cool, quiet, noisy by vehicle noise, room cooling,
freezer, etc.
3. Specimen extraction specimens, specimen processing,
specimen storage, specimen delivery and so on, are sometimes
under-attended, so they may have an effect on the results of the
examination.

incubation time) and improper inspections (e.g. fewer field of
view in the microscope than they should be) can cause errors

C. Type of Quality Guarantee
1. Internal quality assessment/Internal
quality control This means that the
laboratory has a continuous and specific
examination results monitoring program.

2. External Quality Assurance It is also called External Quality


Assessment or outstanding quality which means that our
laboratory is tested for quality of its examination results by
other national (usually government) national and
international laboratories.
