INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR MTD9 DIGITAL TIMER

IMPORTANT
1. Don’t plug in an appliance where the load exceeds 16 Amps. Always ensure the
plug of any appliance is fully inserted into the timer outlet.
2. If cleaning of the timer is required, remove from mains power and wipe it with a dry
cloth.
3. Don’t immerse the timer in water or any other liquid under any circumstance.
4. Heaters and similar appliance should never be left un-attended during operation.
The manufacturer recommends such appliances not be connected to the timers.
INITIAL OPERATION
1. For initial use, plug the timer into a regular 220-240V household power point and
turn the power on.
2. Leave for approximately 12 hours to charge the Memory Back Up batteries.
3. Clear all current information by pressing the R button with a sharp object such as
pencil.
4. The timer is now ready to be set up for use.
SETTING CURRENT TIME
1. Press “MOVE” button till “OFF” appears on the LCD.
2. Press “SELECT” button and the “year/month/date” will flash on the LCD.
3. Press “OK” button to revert year/month/date/hour/minute in turn.
4. Press “SELECT” button to set until the current date and time appears.
5. Press “MOVE” button to exit setting.

TIP: When setting, the button SELECT can be held down for rapid forward counting.
Week is subject to date.
SETTING PROGRAMS
1. Press “MOVE” button till “OFF” is displayed.
2. Press “SELECT” button twice. The “1 ON” is displayed.
3. The timer has the 10 combinations of day or blocks of days as follows for each
press.
a. SU
b. MO
c. TU
d. WE
e. TH
f. FR
g. SA
h. SA,SU
i. MO, TU, WE, TH, FR
j. MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU
k. --:--
4. Press “OK” button to revert combination/hour/minute in turn.
5. Press “SELECT” button to set until the required program is displayed.
6. Press “OK” button and the “1 OFF” appears. Use the same procedure to set the rest
of your programs.
7. The timer has a total of 18 ON/OFF programs.
8. When choosing --:-- during setting, the current setting is cancelled.
9. After completing settings, press MOVE button or wait 20 seconds and the timer will
go to clock mode.
10. Press MOVE button to “AUTO”” mode, the timer is ready to operate according to
your pre set settings.

TIP: Do verifying your programs to ensure that the all settings do not overlap.
SETTING THE COUNT DOWN
1. Press “MOVE” button to “OFF” mode.
2. Press “SELECT” button till “SPM” appears.
3. Press “OK” button to revert hour/minute/second in turn.
4. Press “SELECT” button to set until the right programs is displayed e.g. the required
count down time.
5. After completing settings, press “MOVE” button and the timer will start to operate
in count-down mode, during this period of time the outlet will be switched on until
counting reaches 00:00:00, and the program enters into “OFF” mode automatically
after approximately 2 seconds.
6. Pressing “OK” and “SELECT” buttons simultaneously can stop or override count-
down mode immediately.
ON/OFF SETTING
1. Press “MOVE” button to enter into “ON” mode indicating that the time clock is
switched on continuously.
2. Press “MOVE” button to enter into “OFF” mode indicating that the time clock is
switched off continuously.
RANDOM FUNCTION
1. Press “MOVE” button until LCD displays the symbol “◐”.
2. When this function is selected, the timer will execute a random ON/OFF sequence of
30-60 minutes every 2 hours from 06:00PM to 06:00AM.
