Production Famoco Installation for

Windows
Introduction
 This document contains instructions on how to install the FAMOCO on a windows terminal.
Please note that the drivers are generic LibUsb drivers and are unsigned.
 For Windows 8/10, they will not accept unsigned drivers, so a different method will be used.

Installation on Windows XP
1. Connect the Device to the PC.
2. Go to ‘My Computer'
3. Navigate to ‘View System Information’
4. Go to ‘Hardware Tab’ and navigate to ‘Device Manager’
5. Under ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’ search for the FAMOCO device. The FAMOCO device will
have a ‘Device Instance Id’ = USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0001\0123456789ABCDEF
6. Go to ‘Driver’ Tab and navigate to ‘Update Driver’
7. A window will appear and ask to connect to the internet to update drivers. Select the ‘No, not this
time’ option and click Next
8. Select the ‘Install from a list or specific location’ option and click Next
9. Select ‘Don’t Search. I will choose the driver to install’ option and click Next

10. On the next window, click ‘Have Disk…’


11. A new window will appear to browse for the driver’s location. Click Browse…

12. Navigate to the location where the AFPI_FamocoDrivers is located and select ‘famoco_device.inf’
13. The ‘Production Host/Accessory Famoco’ will appear on the list. Select it and click Next.

14. Click Finish.


15. Now execute the ‘AccessoryModeActivator’ program to turn the device into accessory mode. If the
Activation is successful, you will be able to see the ‘MT65xx Android Phone’ in the device manager
window.

16. Repeat steps 6 to 14 to install the driver for accessory mode. Note that windows may install the
driver automatically, if this happens repeating the installation for accessory mode will be
unnecessary.
17. Once everything is done. Your Famoco device is now installed.
Windows 7
1. Connect the Famoco Device.
2. Navigate to the ‘Device Manager’ or Search it in the start menu.
3. Under ‘Universal Serial Bus Controllers’ search for the Famoco device. It will have a Hardware
Id=USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0001&REV_0216 or USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0001
4. Click the Driver Tab and Click ‘Update Driver’
5. Select ‘Browse my computer for driver software’
6. Select ‘Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’
7. Click ‘Have Disk…’
8. Navigate to the folder where the drivers are located. Choose ‘famoco_device’ and click Open.
9. Select ‘Production Host Famoco’ and then click Next.
10. The installation should be done.

11. Run the AccessoryModeActivator program.


12. If the program is successfully executed, you will find the accessory device in the device list.
Windows may install the drivers automatically. If not, repeat steps 4 to 10.
Windows 8/10
1. Connect the device to the terminal.
2. Open Zadig application
3. Select Options.

4. Click on List all Devices.


5. Choose from the dropdown list ‘MT65xx Android Phone’.

6. Choose WinUsb as the driver to install.


7. Install/Replace the driver.
8. The driver should be installed successfully.

9. Run the AccessoryModeActivator program.


10. Repeat Step 2-7. Note that Windows may install the driver for accessory mode automatically.
