I Syed Ali Waris, born on 23rd March 2006 received an offer letter from Griffith College leading

to Griffith University, in Foundation Program to Diploma of Social & Psychological Science

Bachelor of Social Work. I don’t have a visa or immigration history.

I have an Intermediate (Pre-engineering) degree and had no study gap. Social Workers help
clients with domestic violence, and mental health and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional
issues. This Program will prepare me to take roles in child protection, community development
work, employment and income support, aged care, counseling, etc. I have planned to work as a
Social Welfare Officer in any Governmental Sector. Currently, Pakistan has a weakening
economy, so individuals lack necessities. Social Worker’s main duty is to support the economic
well-being of individual My life's goal is to do something great for the betterment of my country.
Meanwhile, my family is very supportive and I have a strong connection with them, especially
with my father. I have to come back to my homeland, by all means, to take care of my family
and our assets.

I’ll be able to earn a six-figure Salary in a managerial post at any multinational company like
Micro Merger Private Limited and NGOs like The Citizen Foundation etc. I have a
comparatively high chance of getting a good position in such an organization due to in hand
foreign degree.

Pakistan's education system faces challenges like insufficient funding and research , so I have chosen
Griffith College. Griffith College will foster my intellectual development and can address these
shortcomings. I aim to earn a degree enhancing my credentials and opening doors for further education
and opportunities.

Choosing Australia to proceed with higher education helps me grab greater opportunities in
Pakistan. My chosen degree will enhance my skills and managerial expertise.

Social workers also have a duty to support the economic well-being of service users,
according to the framework, by helping to lift them out of poverty. But critics have
questioned whether social work has the capacity to do this. “I’d be fascinated if anybody has
been lifted out of poverty/ moved towards social justice in recent times by actual social
workers,” Romeo21 wrote on CareSpace, Community Care’s online forum. “Connexions
workers and other key localised projects that I know definitely offer value, I just don’t think
statutory social work has the tools to do so.”
A recurring theme in government policies is for statutory services to support people in
finding jobs. For example, the 2009 Valuing Employment Now strategy aims to find work for
45,000 more people with moderate and severe learning disabilities by 2025.
But awareness of the benefits system is also crucial, especially with the forthcoming
introduction of the universal credit by the Department for Work and Pensions, which will
replace existing benefits such as jobseeker’s allowance with a single payment.
