The 5th Key: Do Not Listen to, Tell or Buy the Story

How much of our lives and social interactions are based around telling our stories of trauma and
drama, or listening to others tell their stories?

Guess what happens when you tell the story? You actually solidify your story more and continue
to create it in your life. You end up burying yourself in that story and creating it asyour life.

So, what’s a story anyway? Stories are a way to justify, rationalize, and explain a point of view.
They are based on conclusions we make and have nothing to do with what is really happening.
A story will always disempower you. It’s just one version of events.

When you stop telling the story, all of the sudden, the energy of contraction lessens, and you
begin to take back the power in your life for you.

What about not listening to others stories? How do you function in relationships that consist of
this? People can and will tell you their stories, but you don’t have to buy them as real or true.
You may still be in a place where you listen to their story, but what if you didn’t have to find a
way to align and agree with how bad it is?

It’s okay to not listen from aligning and agreeing anymore. You can be there with them and for
them, but not have to buy into it. When you buy into it that actually solidifies it even more for
them, too. Being a space of interesting point of view with them is a gift.

1) Notice when you are telling the story about what’s wrong, what’s not changeable, what’s not
possible or how bad and terrible it is, and just STOP. Theb say, “Everything I’m doing to tell this
story, I’m stopping now. And everything that creates that, I destroy and
uncreate it. Right and wrong, good and bad, POD and POC, all 9, shorts, boys, POVADS and
beyonds.”

This is where you have a truly courageous choice, my friends. If you choose to stop telling the
story, you will stop carrying it forward even one more day.

2) While listening to others tell their story, ask yourself, “Is there anything I can contribute to

😉
here? Is there anything I could say that would change this?” And if not, you don’t need to say
anything at all just shut up and be space!
