LinkAlign AIR
Radwin Solution
1. Nextmove Overview
Nextmove designs, manufactures, and maintains a standard product line of auto acquire and track
antenna positioners used in the DoD, Federal, Emergency Management, Oil&Gas, and Electronic News
Gathering markets.
Our solutions have been deployed for Air to Ground, Ship to shore, point to point, and point to
multipoint solutions.
This system described below may be modified and scaled to fit each customers footprint of operation.
The objective of this paper is to provide the details on the basic equipment needed for a tower and
remote side deployment and concept of operation.
The LinkAlign-Air solution provides end users with a rapid deploy microwave point to multipoint
network that removes the logistics and costs associated with manual setup, alignment, and maintenance
of microwave links. The end result is communications links that are established in minutes instead of
hours and immediate Return on Investment due to cost savings of labor associated with manual
microwave alignment.
Nextmove works with multiple radio vendors and has many options to expand or scale this solution
based on the proposed region for installation.

The software allows for manual control and fully automated PTP acquisition which shall be used for
this system. The tower site latitude and longitude along with altitude is entered into the stored locations
database shown in the center of the control window below. Once a mobile end (remote side) arrives at a
location the operator simply double clicks on the "tower site" button located in the stored location
window.
LinkAlign then uses its built in GPS and compass to figure out where it is and what its current heading
is. It then calculates the azimuth to point back to the tower site and moves to that heading. A peak
process is then performed to optimize the link. This entire process takes less than 1 minute.
The operator of this equipment will never have to worry the logistics and deal with the added cost of
manual alignment of high bandwidth point to point links. When the command vehicle is ready to leave
an incident the operator simply presses the "Home" button in the stored locations database and the
positioner returns to a user configurable stowed location for transport.
