Management
Name:
Course: Global Business Management Diploma
Institution: ……………………………………………………
I was born and brought up in a progressive business family. One thing I note
is that the atmosphere in such families is different compared to families
where parents are employed. We are taught to develop independent thought,
have an entrepreneurial sprit and be outgoing. In addition, we are taught to
look at the practical side of life and relationships. All these influenced me to
take on studies in computer applications with a future eye on possible launch
of my own IT based company for which I would also need to be an efficient
business manager. This is where I now stand. At this point I feel professional
business management training will be of immense benefit for my future
career goal.
Experience
I completed my Masters of Computer Application in July 2019. In April 2019 I
applied for and obtained a position as Administrative Specialist at Citi Private
Bank. My job was part IT related in that I had to make use of custom
software tools to prepare statements, carry out surveillance, create client
profiles and conduct administrative tasks with the use of software. My other
job duties related to working as abettor to associate bankers to create client
profiles, assist clients, help bank colleagues, manage customer service and
maintain inventory. I do keep busy in this job and learn about management
as I go along.
Classes/projects
Apart from pursuing studies in computer applications, I undertook classes to
learn other computer software such as Adobe solutions, classes to learn
about 3Ds 3D modelling and animation, SQL and Oracle to learn about
database programming and HTML for web designing. I have obtained
certification in GNIIT from NIIT in June 2018, in Oracle 11G in September
2016 and in Adobe CS6 in April 2019. Further, while working, I joined the
Institute of Professional Banking to undergo the Post Graduate Certificate in
Retail Banking course which I passed in February 2019.
Leadership/community experience
While in school and then in college at Guru Nanak Dev University and then at
Amity University, I loved to take part in theatrical performances, in debates
and in Singing competitions. I formed a group and led them to take part in
such events.
The lockdown saw me working from home. It also affected me to note the
plight of so many labourers deprived of house, work and food. I organized
my friends to get together and ran a community kitchen for whoever we
could reach out to. It also made me realize just how fortunate I was and that
I also have a greater community responsibility.
I am vivacious, a bubbly and effervescent spirit. I get along well with people
and love interactions. I am sure that this quality will help me to be a better
manager, complementing my training in business management. I am
cheerful, enthusiastic to acquire knowledge and possess the Punjabi joi-de-
vivre. Hopefully, provided I gain admission, I should be able to share these
with my co-students. My hard work and future career progress will, I am sure,
enhance reputation of the college.
