Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Leila lanouar I’m glad to be present inorder to discuss

my master’s thesis work entitled Business management of an optimal power supply process
for a smart house based on renewable generators.
1
• This presentation is linked as follows
• general introduction
• Presentation of the studied system
• the new supervision strategy of a smart house
• the validation of the proposed supervision strategy´
and finally I will sum up by the conclusion and outlook
2
Starting by the General Pesentation
3
In the Smart Home Concept there are several lines of research :  The management of
electricity demand
 The security of the computer system
 Home automation devices
 The management of thermal energy
in this master, I was interested in two research axes at the same time :
• Axis of the management of the demand for electricity
• Axis of minimization of the price of electricity invoiced
4
Before dealing with these objectives, I will first show the
system studied5
This figure presents a smart house which contains 5 components The 1st p Before dealing
with these objectives, I will first present the system studied it is the equipment of the house
studied which can be classified into two categories : favorable and unfavorable. The choice
of this classification is made according to the needs of the inhabitant and according to other
criteria such as the weather seasons, the way of life of the inhabitants6
Moreover This smart house is composed by 3 sources : a photovoltaic generator, a wind generator and an
energy storage system (battery).
We need to use the « smart meter » to in order to light up the Smart house
finalement, proposition de gestion de l'énergie de la maison 11
Finally, suggestion for energy management of the house3

" this 3rd part is entitled "New supervision strategy for a smart house “

This figure illustrates the reorganization and transition between the eight modes of operation following
the different initial inputs obtained by the cloud system. Only one mode must be activated for each
period of operation
15
Starting by the first case which is activated when ;
P L ( t ) P RN =0,

In this case , the power balance is already achieved. So no power is sold or bought with the
electrical network (P_sell (t)=0$ and P_bay (t)=0$) and the energy balance of the house
studied is ensured only by renewable sources. 16
Moving to the next case when we have the following conditions :

P_diff (t)>0 and 〖SOC〗_B (t)<〖SOC〗_BMAX In this mode, we have an excess of renewable production
which is higher than the optimal power authorized to charge the domestic battery. For This, There are 3 boxes

Box B: The power balance is ensured by renewable sources, the domestic battery and the electrical network.

Box C: the energy balance is ensured by renewable sources and the domestic battery.

Case D: , all the excess power P_diff (t) is going to be sold to the grid according to the relation. The énergies
balance of the studied house is carried out by renewable sources and the electricity network.

In This mode, There is an excess of renewable production which is greater than the optimum power authorized
to charge the domestic battery. For this, there are 3 boxes

When we have the following conditions Pdiff ( t ) >0 et SOC B ( t )< SOC BMAX
Case B : The power balance is ensured by renewable sources, the domestic battery and the electrical
network. .So when the battery is full, the remaining amount of energy will be sold

Box C: the energy balance is ensured by renewable sources and the domestic battery.

Case D: , all the excess power P_diff (t) is going to be sold to the grid according to the relation. The energy
balance of the studied house is carried out by renewable sources and the electricity network.

17
Moving to the third global condition which gives 4 different mode :

t h ere is Pdiff ( t ) <0 switch to battery status

SOC B ( t )> SOC BMin

In case E, the battery duration does not participate in the power supply of the studied house because it is
completely and totally discharged. The energy balance of the studied house is ensured by renewable sources
and the disconnection of non-priority domestic loads.

However, box F The rest of the missing power will be eliminated by disconnecting the unfavorable domestic
equipment. The energy balance of the house studied Is ensured by renewable sources, the domestic battery
and the disconnection of unfavorable domestic loads.

And the 2 conditions left the balance between production and consumption ensured by the electricity
network.

In mode G, the energy balance is ensured by renewable sources, the domestic battery and the electrical
network.

And in the mode H The energy balance, is ensured by renewable sources, and the electricity network

20
In this part, the simulation and study of our studied system and the validation of our proposed
energy monitoring strategy will be proven and discussed using the standard BPMN2.0
process. first figure shows the power produced by the wind generator second figure
illustrates of the power produced by the photovoltaic generator and this figure presents
power of the total demand of the studied smart home
52
This figure illustrates the reorganization and transition between the eight modes of operation following the
different initial inputs obtained by the cloud system. Only one mode must be activated for each
period of operation.

This power can be positive in case of excess renewable production or negative in case of lack
of renewable production. It is compensated differently depending on the selected operation
case presented in this figure54

The progression of the energy balance of the studied smart home is well shown in figure 14. The curve in
green analyzes the demand profile of the smart home before the intervention of our proposed supervision.
The red curve shows the remaining home demand power after battery intervention. Then the new home
power demand after the participation of the electricity network is shown in the purple curve. This power
converges to zero. Finally, the curve in cyanblue, which is almost zero, is obtained after the disconnection of
the unfavorable loads. Obviously, the balance energy objective (production/consumption) has been achieved,
which shows the effectiveness of our proposed supervision.

In Figure is described a comparison between energy bills .the curve in blue shows the initial
electricity bill for the house. For each period of operation, this billing is calculated by
multiplying the power requested by the house by the price of electricity ; The curve in red
clarifies the final electricity billing of the studied smart house after the intervention of the
proposed energy monitoring strategy. It can be seen that the final billing has suffered a
considerable regression compared to the initial one,

To sum up , this study serves ecologically to reduce pollution in the city by minimizing CO2, socially to improve
human life by increasing the comfort of habitats and also serves economically to ensure the reduction of
electricity bills, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed energy management
