It is about a young man who survives a disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of
adventure and discovery. The moral of Life of Pi is that humans have the ability and right to
imagine a better world for themselves. While it is a story about imagining, it is more than that.
The most important aspect, or moral, of the story is that it is a story about perseverance and not
giving up hope. I actually haven’t watched it yet, but if I base it on the summary that I have got, it
is encouraging me to watch the movie, and I think I will enjoy it because of its fantasy and
magical theme. After I read the story, I felt inspired. The reason being that pi never gives up and
continues to combat even if it is a matter of life and death. The author of the story is Yann
Martel, he is a Canadian author best known for the Man booker prize–winning novel Life of pi
international bestseller published in more than 50 territories. Martel was born in Salamanca,
Spain, in 1963 to French-Canadians Emile Martel and Nicole Perron who were studying at
the University of Salamanca. His mother was enrolled in Hispanic studies while his father was
working on a PhD on Spanish writer Miguel de Unamuno. That said, Martel noted that ultimately
it was his quest to understand the "mechanism of religious faith" that made him write the book.
“'Life of Pi' was to understand faith. Faith is a leap into the unknown. Within the story are themes
of spirituality and religion, self-perception, the definition of family, and the nature of animals. Pi is
raised as a Hindu but as a young boy discovers both Christianity and Islam and decides to
practice all three religions simultaneously and this what the story contain. We all know that there
is no perfect in this life but it has a lot of inspirational messages and scenes that helps me to
improve my way of living and my faithful. It also has a lot of heart and is fun to watch.
