Burner Management Panel in ECR (This description is valid also for the Boiler Local Panel, BLP)
EMERGENCY STOP
This button stops the firing by closing all fuel valves, oil as well as gas.
Emergency Stop cannot be over-ridden by BOILER TRIPPED (PUSH TO OVERRIDE) button
The emergency stop button has to be released by turning the knob
GAS AVAILABLE
This lamp indicates that gas is available for gas firing, i e no gas trip is present
If the lamp is not lit, gas firing cannot be started
DIESEL OIL
This button is normally used when the boiler is started from cold condition on D.O.
The button will by-pass the following start interlocks:
1. Atomizing steam pressure below limit
2. F.O. pump pressure below limit
3. F.O. temperature below limit
The DIESEL OIL button can be used any time if required to by-pass the a. m. start interlocks
Warning: If used on HFO, the burners will not trip on low atomizing steam pressure!
When DIESEL OIL is selected, the lamp will be lit
START INTERLOCK
This lamp indicates that a START INTERLOCK is active, I e a subsequent burner cannot be started. The
interlocks can be:
Atomizing steam pressure below limit
F.O. pump pressure below limit
F.O. temperature below limit
START
A burner is started with this button
In case of FUEL OIL mode: The burner will start on fuel oil
In case of DUAL FUEL mode: The burner will start on fuel oil and continue to DUAL FUEL
During start sequence, the indicator lamp is flashing
FLAME ON
This lamp is lit when any of the IR or UV sensor in this burner is indicating flame on
The lamp is flashing if flame on is indicated when burner is off
STOP/FLAME FAILURE
This button is used to stop the burner completely, i e both fuels (oil and gas)
If flame goes out or flame fails during start of burner, the lamp is flashing
When lamp is flashing (flame failure alarm), button must be pressed to acknowledge the alarm and
to proceed with this burner
ECR: This button has a momentary action
BLP: This button has a maintained action. This means the button may stay in the inner (=STOP)
position. This can be used when the operator is working on the burner

Combustion control panel in ECR (This description is valid also for the Boiler Local Panel)
MASTER CONTROLLER
The master controller is controlling the steam pressure vs. the set point
Steam pressure set point is found on the HMI, page ”Master”
The master controller output is called Power demand
Power demand is modified depending on the number of burners in operation:
1. If one burner is in operation, power demand is multiplied by a factor 3
2. If two burners are in operation, power demand is multiplied by a factor 1.5
3. If three burners are in operation, power demand is multiplied by a factor 1
After modification, the signal is called Burner flow demand, this is the set point for the F.O.
controller and the fuel gas controller
If the master controller is operated manually, both boilers fuel controllers will respond to the
changes in power demand, provided these controllers are in auto.
STEAM DUMP
There is one steam dump valve control output, 4-20mA
There are two steam dump control valves, operating in split range. The steam is coming from
external de-superheater (large).
The dumping is controlled not only by high steam pressure. Dumping can only begin when power
demand has come down to zero.
FUEL OIL
On fuel oil only, the set point for fuel oil firing is the burner flow demand
On dual fuel firing, fuel oil set point will be on minimum setting
FUEL GAS
On gas only or on dual fuel, the set point for gas firing is the burner flow demand
COMBUSTION AIR
The set point for combustion air flow is the sum of fuel oil flow and gas flow
Air flow can be adjusted by air/fuel ratio on the HMI

DRUM LEVEL
Set point, normally zero, is set on the HMI
The load signal is coming from the steam flow transmitter
Changes in the boiler load will increase or decrease the valve opening.
Level is slowly corrected to set point by the level transmitter
STEAM TEMPERATURE
Set point, normally 510C, is set on the HMI
Temperature is slowly corrected to set point by the secondary superheater outlet temperature
transmitter
