Directions: Complete the outline using complete sentences. Make sure you include a title for
your paper at the beginning of the outline.

Creative Title: The Trail of Death

I. Introduction

A. In the history books in America there are thousands of children who know about
the event called the Trail of Tears. This event should renamed the Trail of Death.

B. Sentence describing the genocide/main cause: The trail of tears occurred in


_____ during the Presidency of Andrew Jackson. He moved the cherokee indiants out
of their land and took their resources. To move them out of the land and take the
resources. Also, the president was racist and thought they were too under deloped to
have that much land.

How bad was the genocide and all the stages of the genocide. The Trail of Tears
could be considered a genocide based on the stages of dehumanization, persecution,
and extermination for the United State government to remove the Native Americans

Cherokee so it would be easier to strip their rights away from them.

B. Description of chosen stage connected to your topic: The dehumanization and the
removal of the Cherokees to get stuff from them, and to get rid of them.

Georgia would receive Cherokee lands, and the Cherokee would be removed. Jackson was
not going to stop Georgia from trying to take the Cherokee land (Burgan, Michael)

and humiliated them by making them powerless against white people and muting their voice.
This is the first stage of the genocide and the suffering later to come.

genocide When the Cherokees got too their new home which was a waste land the
current the president at that time wanted to kill them for no reason. But we people
found out that there were more resources such as... in that wasteland. These resources

were more than they thought, so they started going over there and started killing the
Cherokees.

Oklahoma and live there because there was nothing for them to rebel with. But when
they the government found out there were more resources or there thanon0 the land,
they took tried to take that land by force from the Cherokeeem.

The first stage was dehumanization so the U.S government could get rid of them
without any repocution. The Second is Persecution, this is how they started to identify
and remove the Cherokee form homes. The third and last stage is Extermination, this is
the closing part of the genocide where they started killing tribe for little to no reason
and then when more gold and resources have been found there, they started killing the
Cherokee for the resources

greed and selfness of the U.S government.
