Layouts :

You can generate Layouts with multiple Columns for some extra detail of Project.You can follow steps to
make your own Project Layouts.

 Add Required Columns in Dashboard

 View ………> Layouts ……………>Save as ………>Put some name and click ok
 View ……….>Layouts …………..>Open …….>Layout window will be open and chose your
customized layout to open

Benefit:

Layouts Helps you to save certain required data with columns,Timeline and bar settings and
later on you can change your project from one detail area to an other one on single click
It Provides you Project versatile information quickly.

Milestones:

Milestones are flags of Project in general or you can say Milestones are one of activity type
which control project work packages and having zero duration because its purpose to control
work package start or finish date.

 Add Activity
 Change activity Type (Activity Details ……..>General …….>Activity Type …….>Start Milestones
 Link this activity to the work package activity which one you want control by this milestone

Benefit:

Milestone Activities are developed in Project to show Project Major Divisions and by adding
Milestone activities we can control those phases,Divisions or Deliverables.

PDF :

Ctr + P ………………….> Computer Path …………………>Ok

This above step will save your P6 Plan into Pdf version but before that you must preview and if
not reasonable preview you must know how to handle it.

Project Profile /S-Curves/Cash Flow :

I have shared one excel sheet where project has been planned on excel to make you understand
how Project cost spread out across project duration.
When your Poject Cost management is viewed along with Project Time /Schedule management
in cumulative (total) way then such Data based Graphs are called S-curves,Profiles or Cash flows.

Cumulative values plotted against Timeline is called S-Curves

Time Interval Values Plotted against Timeline is called Histograms
Weightages : Value of Component divided by Total value of project

Front Loaded S-Curve:

When Project Weightage or cash utilization is more at initial to mid timeline than post mid
project Timeline

Back Loaded S-Curve

When Project Weightage or cash utilization is Less at initial to mid timeline than post mid
project Timeline
