What happens if you have too


much LDL “bad” cholesterol
in your blood?

If you eat a lot of cholesterol rich foods, it


can increase cholesterol in your blood.
Dietary sources rich in cholesterol
include meat, poultry, rich creamy
desserts and high-fat dairy products.

High levels of cholesterol accumulate in


the inner walls of arteries and narrows
them. Reduced blood supply to the heart
and brain causes chest pain, heart
attacks and stroke.

What are the symptoms of high cholesterol?
Usually there are no symptoms of high cholesterol, until it has caused
damage.
Therefore, it is important to have your cholesterol levels checked as your
doctor suggests, especially if you have high risk factors for heart disease.
The only way you can tell you have high cholesterol is to have a
blood test.
