Farm Segmentation of Satellite Images using Holistically-Nested Edge

Detection

• Using scrapped Satellite images across all of India and detecting Farm
boundaries which can not only be mapped to individual farmers but also to the
closest bank, railway, roadway, and marketplace to that corresponding Farm.
• Using techniques like Data Augmentation, Transfer Learning, Open CV for
dilation, skeletonization and contour mapping.
• Using HED network architecture consisting of 5 stages, with strides 1, 2, 4,
8 and 16, respectively, and with different receptive field sizes, all nested in the
VGGNet the accuracy was around 80-85%.
