RECEIVER - MODULATOR

SRM 6000+ / SRM 7000+

Analogue satellite TV receiver – modulator. Each module
receives a Satellite TV channel and converts it into an
AM-modulated RF channel. Just one model is all that is
necessary for any input or output channel.
APPLICATION
Analogue satellite TV installations in large and medium size
communities. No need of individual receivers with each TV set.
CHARACTERISTICS
■ Includes independent processing of audio carriers with PANDA-
compatible adaptive de-emphasis.
HEADENDS

■ All system’s functions are memorised and controlled by a FAGOR

microprocessor.
■ The direct connection between LNB and receiver and the possibility
of a splitting function at the input allows a very simple set-up.
■ The modulator operates in any TV channel (BI, BIII, “S” Bands and
UHF) and its VSB output allows adjacent channel operation.
■ The output auto-combining system and the signal of high spectral
purity allows broad band amplification.
■ It also offers the possibility of fine tuning the output channel
frequency to disperse intermodulation products in installations with
many channels.
■ RF output signal ON/OFF switchable for analysis and headend Supply voltage Vdc 30 17 12 5
adjustment. Current drawn (7,95 W) mA 3 16 460 415
■ Brightness adjustment available. Operating temperature range 0 ÷ 50º C
■ Video modulation depth adjustable from 75 to 90%.
■ Incorporates test bars generator.
■ It allows to generate black screen for distributing audio signals.
■ Screws and power supply cable included.

AUDIO/VIDEO MODULATOR

MOD Series
Self-powered modulator which generates an RF channel with
the Audio and Video information coming from a Video, DVD,
IRD, video door entry system, security cameras, etc.
APPLICATIONS
This modulator enables the reception of a signal coming from a receiver
with Audio and Video output, on a TV set without Audio and Video input.
The antenna signal from an outlet socket can be combined with a
newly generated channel and both are delivered at the output, thus
enabling their coaxial cable distribution throughout the dwelling.
CHARACTERISTICS
■ Double side band modulation, allowing one channel spacing operation.
■ Compact design, making it easy to install.
■ The output channel is easily programmed by two buttons and an
alphanumerical display.
■ Audio volume can be adjusted to be equalised with the volume of

other programmes.
■ Incorporates a video-test bar generator making TV tuning easier.
■ Multi-standard and multi-band, with one single model covering all
standards and channels.
AMPLIFIERS

■ A PLL circuit ensures high stability of the output channel.

EQUALIZERS

ECU Series
A family of passive components that operate in broadband
allowing optimum flatness to be obtained in the signal
response of a distribution network for TV (CATV).
These devices compensate the attenuation tilt caused by the coaxial
cable used in the installation, which is proportional to frequency and
cable length.
Considering the complete band of frequencies used for the TV
service, between 47-862 MHz, the attenuation tilt produced by the
installation is influenced by type and length of the cable used, making
it necessary to select the appropriate ECU model for each tilt
(see chart).

Nr. of amplifiers — 2 3 4 5 6 7

Reduction of
dB 0 3 4,8 6 7 7,8 8,5
output level (RA)
The output level of the amplifiers must be reduced NO = NS - RC - RA
according to the table above to keep the NO = Max. operating level.
intermodulation products at the same level. NS = Output level (DIN 45004 B, IM3 –60 dB).
RC = Reduction by nr. of channels.
RA = Reduction by nr. of amplifiers
