 (3Rs) Reduce, Reuse, Recycle of Plastic Bottles towards clean environment

1. INTRODUCTION

With this activity we may be able to mitigate and minimize the bad effects of the plastic bottles to our
environment that we usually buy in the local stores. We can turn to a useful one the plastic bottles that we buy
from the store, it can be a recycle bin and etc., I proposed a community project which aims to build an Eco
friendly designed trash bin out of 1.5 plastic bottles collected in houses or in the street, I will create one trash
bins which will be given to the Barangay hall so that they can use it in the office for their garbage disposal and
through this activity they will have an idea or gain knowledge on how to make their plastic bottles to be a trash
bin and to make more trash bins for the benefit of the whole community and the environment.

2. RATIONALE

Materials which exceed the steadiness of their production and destruction bring about the deterioration
with inside the environment. Plastic is one such material which poses a huge danger to the environment. A huge
amount of plastic is produced and dumped into the environment which does now not results easily degrade
naturally. Most of the plastics are thrown to the ocean, Consequently, the Marine existence and habitat will die
and be destroyed.

To start with, there are answers and movement closer to higher plastic useful resource control and
pollutants prevention. One of that is Recycling which the plastic this is already in use are nevertheless useful.
One of plastic is Polyethylene Terephthalate are commonly used to shop beverages together with water, gentle
drinks, motor oil, cooking oil, medicine, shampoo, milk, and ink. Furthermore, the plastic bottle is made from
high-density or low density plastic. Aside from it is not heavy; it is comfortable to carry either.

Perhaps, according to the (US EPA) United States Environment Protection Agency plastic bottles are
the most commonly-recycled per household in the US. Americans recycled 3.02 million tons of plastics in
2018. The plastic recycling tactics entails collecting, sorting, shredding, washing, melting, and pelletizing.

3. OBJECTIVES

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

This activity aims to help your community and the environment. Recycling is a key component of
modern waste reduction and is the third component of the "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" waste hierarchy. Thus,
recycling aims at environmental sustainability by substituting raw material inputs into and redirecting waste
outputs out of the economic system.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

 At the end of this activity, the participants will be able to:

 To educate the people in the importance of waste segregation in aiming for a child-friendly and liveable
community.
 To introduce new innovative designs for recycle plastic bottles
 To reduce the effect of solid waste in the environment and health of the people.
 To make the community a safe, clean, and organize habitat of all living things.

6. ACTIVITY PLAN MATRIX

 This project proposal has to be done within 5 days of working. It includes the
assesstment,prepation,taking action to do the task and donate to the respective target
barangay.

  STRATEGY
 Conduct a garbage disposal need assessment in the community.
 Analyse the knowledge obtained by focusing on a region where there is a shortfall of trash bins.
 Inform the barangay officials about the project.
 Prepare the materials needed for the trash bin and start the process of recycling.
 Present the finished product.
 Create a short video that advocates the new innovative design for recycling plastic bottles into
trash bins.
 Post it on each of the proponent’s social media account that has friends within the community to
be able to share this idea to the upcoming future generations.

PROCEDURE:

1. Prepare 11 bottles for the first layer of the trash bin.

2. With the use of a sharp knife make two holes alternatively on each side of the bottles.
3. Make the wire pass through the holes in order for the bottles to connect.
4. Use the pliers to tighten the wires and create a perfect circle consisting of 11 bottles.
5. Turnover the bottles and measure the circle with the use of the screen.
6. Use bamboo sticks or any type of stick that has the right size to place a cross on the bottom of the first
layer of the trash bin,
7. After cutting the measured screen using the steel wires in order to attach the screen to the bamboo sticks
and serve as the foundation or base of the trash bin.
8. Prepare another 11 plastic bottles for the second layer.
9. With the use of any sharp tool make two holes alternatively on each side of the bottles.
10. Use the steel wires and make it pass through holes in order for the bottles to attach.
11. Turnover the bottles and use the glue gun to attach the second layer’s cap to the first layer’s caps.
12. Repeat the process of the second layer upon making the third layer of the trash bin.
13. Use the glue gun to attach the bottom of the second layer to the third layer’s bottom.
14. Attach a black garbage bag with the corresponding size in the trash bin and the product is finished.

7. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION OUTPUT

 After I give my output to the

barangay officials 2 days after, I go to the
barangay to monitor if they are using my
output and I see they are using it.
