units. This type of government is what you can see in countries like the United States,
Australia, and Canada. This type of government is found to be more responsive and can
help divide the Philippines into several manageable parts, thus bringing optimum
to handle the physical, logistical and organizational changes in the form of government.

The Philippines is tiny in terms of landmass. Philippines is not big enough to have
regions whose needs and resources drastically from each other. As such, it does not
make sense to give more power to our provinces over matters like health care and
education. We struggle to make a unitary government work as is. How much more
difficult will it be, logistically, to run a country by giving provinces more autonomy, when
we can't function well enough under a unitary government? Why risk furthering the
already present regional divides when we, as Filipinos, can't even unite ourselves? As a
young student, one of the easiest ways to contribute to federalism is to support your
local government if that’s the case. I am personally pro federalism because our central
government doesn't have a capacity to manage the provincial and regional affairs
who will be directly affected with the overhaul of our form of governance.
