Chromatic Enclosures Like Michael Brecker

When I hear Michael Brecker play I do not hear that many original bebop chromatic lines
What I do hear is this
A7½
bœ œ œ bœ#œ

œ b œ b œ b œ œ œ œ bœ œ œ œ œ
b œ
& ≈ # œ œ œ bœ bœ bœ œ #œ

That whole lick is of course great, but I am looking at the chromatics.

Towards the F in the 2nd bar Brecker will apply direct chromatics towards the target note

The bebop way would probably be using an enclosure like this
And it just sounds a bit less hip

œ œ bœ œ
D‹
œ b œ œ bœ D‹
œ Œ
& Ó Œ Ó Ó Ó

Trying to place the chromatics as close to the target note as possible

œ b œ œ b œ œ bœ D‹ œ œ œ bœ œ
œ Œ Ó œ b œ œ ‰ Œ Ó
D‹

& Œ ‰ J J
And not playing the chromatics as enclosures but direct approach notes

The direct chromatic sound gives a more outside sound in the lines
You get chromatic note on the beat and chord notes on the o beats
