CALA Background:

Adverbs are a key aspect in sentence construction and bring life and clarity to verbs/actions. However,
learners face some difficulty when constructing sentences and tend to leave verbs unmodified. The
facilitator therefore expects learners to research on the various types of adverbs and attempt the given
questions.

Learners activity :

Part A

1.) Define adverbs, research on the various types of adverbs and briefly describe five.(5)

Part B

2.) a )Identify any 5 words that can be changed into adverbs (5)

b) Change the identified words into adverbs.(5)

Part C

3.) Now use the identified adverbs to construct short simple sentences, underline the verb used once
and the adverb twice (15)
