Message from Lt Jaber:

Thanks for the invitation on the gala night of 2020B.

There is a famous saying in Chinese, “He who returns from a journey is not the same as
he who left.” Batch 2020B means more than a journey to me. Seeing you guys grown
up in front of my eyes was a different feeling. You have achieved the dream for which
you desired everyday and you deserved it. But do remember this is just the first ladder
in your many steps of the stair.

Very soon you guys are passing out. You will cherish many memories of these 3 years
of togetherness, many experiences, many emotions and many stories to tell. Remember
all these memories are something you are taking with you as lessons. They are
important but whats more important is the persons who you see at your left or right and
behind or ahead of you in the line when you are crossing the Quarter deck of the ship.
They are something that are part of you and as I always said are the only crown you are
taking today. Remember what I said, “Live like a nation not like islands.” You all have so
much to offer for each other and only in comradeship you will find the true meaning of
growing up.

Finally, I extend my sincere apology for not being there on the day of your passing out.
You can understand that I wanted to be there. Seeing you guys crossing the podium is
one of the long-cherished desire of mine. I know that day will be one of the brightest day
of many other bright days in your carrier to come. Many many wishes for the big day.
Last but not the least, it would be an honour to serve with my boys and girls onboard as
colleagues one day. I look forward to that day with much keenness.

Thank you. Best wishes for the Mids from the core of my heart. It’s really amazing to
know that the cadets whom I got as Sem-1 cadets are going to graduate soon. Please
sir, convey my heartfelt appreciation to the young souls. I really wish I could join.

Lt Cdr Trisha sir was very delighted to have received your invitation, she was very eager
to come. Sir sent best regards to her cadets on their well deserved promotion.
