REPORT SUMMARY
I. BACKGROUND
DOST-PAGASA, on March 24, 2023, has raised the EL Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO)
Alert and Warning System to EL Niño Watch, based on the recent conditions and forecast
models indicating that the EL Niño season will likely develop in July- August -September
(JAS) of 2023 and may persist until 2024;
EL Niño (the warm phase of ENSO) is characterized by unusually warmer than average
sea surface temperature (SSTs) in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific (CEEP) When
conditions are favorable for the development of El Niño with in the next six months. And
the Probability is 55% or more. An EL Niño is Issued
II. OBJECTIVES
In the light of the above cited purpose, all units shall implement measures and activities guided by the
following objectives, to wit:
1. To inform the school teacher’s to be prepared for upcoming EL Niño for the next
six (6) months.
2. The School and its student will be able to conserve water during their daily
used
III. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY
1. Information and Education campaign regarding EL Niño phenomena for the next
three (3) months or more
