To talk about completed actions in the past, English uses the past tense.

For regular verbs, use the form:


verb + - ed

verb + - ed = past tense


relax - ed relaxed
exercise - ed exercised
clean - ed cleaned

To create a sentence in the past tense, use the form:

Subject + verb(ed)

Example:

She relaxed.
I exercised.
They cleaned.
