Dear students, here you have two listenings I want you to do. Answer the questions in your
notebook, we will talk about it next Monday in class. These two listenings are important because
of the vocabulary.

TASK 1: “The benefits of a bilingual brain.”

Listen to the following 5-minute Ted-Talk and answer the questions.

2. How can bilinguals be classified? Explain the three types mentioned in the video.
3. What is the main difference between learning languages as a child and as an adult?
4. What does bilingualism do for your brain? Which effects does bilingualism have in your
brain?

TASK 2: “Does the language we speak shape the way we think?”

Listen to the following 15-minute Ted-Talk and write down five ideas you find interesting. We
are going to share the ideas in class.
