I believe God is calling the nation Philippines and will use it as a way of blessing in the last days.

Although God chose Israel to use as the way of blessing, God scattered them among the nations because of their
disobedience. They became the fig tree God can’t use. The Bible is filled with symbolisms and shadows.
God has chosen the nation Israel and set the direction of history through this nation. One important symbol among
them is that the fig tree represents Israel. Then what evidences are there to show that fig tree represents Israel?
What Biblical evidences are there to show that the fig tree represents Israel?
The Israelites are sent to Babylon as captives because of their disobedience and rebellion. However, not all of them
are sent away to captivity. There were people left in the Promised Land.

God spoke about two kinds of people through the prophet Jeremiah. The people taken away as captives to Babylon
will be seen as good figs, while the people left in Jerusalem will be thrown away as evil figs unable to eat because of
their evil hearts. Jeremiah 24:8 ‘And as the BAD FIGS which cannot be eaten, they are so bad’—surely thus says the
Lord—‘so will I give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, his princes, the residue of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and
those who dwell in the land of Egypt. According to this word, God symbolizes the Israelites to a fig tree. According to
the book of Jeremiah in the Old Testament, Israel was a fig tree fruit.

Then let’s go to the New Testament.

Luke chapter 13 starts with the word of Jesus urging for repentance.
Luke 13:6 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a FIG TREE planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking
fruit on it and found none. Isn’t it strange how the parable says a man planted a fig tree in his vineyard? Why did he
plant a fig tree in a vineyard? It’s certain that it is God’s plan of blessing the whole world, vine, through Israel, the fig
tree. It’s like the plan of God choosing one person Abraham to bless the whole world.

Luke 13:7 Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree
and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ And the following verse 7 gives some clue on what the
fig tree represents. “For three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none.” It’s certain that the
three years represents the public ministry of Jesus. And it’s also certain that the fig tree represents the Israelites who
refused the word of God and failed to bear fruit even though Jesus taught, healed, and spread the gospel for three
years. Luke 13:8 But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 9
And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ” And finally Israel who was unable to bear fruit
was cut down.

This was historically fulfilled when the Jerusalem Temple was destroyed in AD 70 completely losing the nation.

When Jesus came to the temple one week before bearing the cross, He rebuked the fig tree filled only with leaves
when he was looking for fruit when he came to the temple from Bethany.

Mark 11:12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig
tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing
but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever
again.”

Like the story of planting a fig tree in the vineyard, this is a strange story.
Until now, many scholars debated on this event, but didn’t reach a conclusion.
The reason of debate is that Jesus sought for fruit even though it was not the season for fig fruit.

However, there is no reason Jesus wouldn’t have known that it was not the season for fig fruit because Jesus lived in
Israel for 33 years.

Therefore, this event is the teaching of Jesus telling the disciples that the destiny of the nation Israel is very closely
related with the last day.
This teaching is well shown in Mark 13, two chapters after, Mark 13:1-27 is the prophecy on what will happen in the
last days. Moreover, the latter Mark 13:28-31 wants the readers to get a hint about the last days from the fig tree.
Mark 13:28 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth
leaves, you know that summer is near. It says that the dead tree will come alive again.
And Jesus said that when the fig tree becomes alive “know that summer is near.”

Probably, when the disciples with an Old Testament background heard “know that summer is near,”
They would never very well that “summer” represents “the end.” That’s because “summer” in Hebrew is very similar
to the word “end”; that’s why Amos used this word to word play.

Amos 8:2 And He said, “Amos, what do you see?” So I said, “A basket of summer(qaiyṣ)fruit.”
Then the LORD said to me: “The end (qêṣ) has come upon My people Israel;

Mark 13:29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near—at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say
to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass
away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Summer coming close as the fig tree come alive means that the end is close.
Therefore, before the fig tree comes to alive, before one generation passes, all the events of the last days will
happen.

And then Jesus will come back.

The death fig tree, that is, Israel lost their country in AD 70 and were scattered around the world as diasporas.

Then after 2,000 years they rebuild their country and have their independence in 1948.
This means that the fig tree came back to life. This never happened in the history of this world.
God certainly accomplishes what looks impossible in the eyes of people.

Ironically, Adam and Eve makes their clothes by fig tree leaves to cover their shame after their sin in Chapter 3 of
Genesis. Genesis 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they
sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. And God clothed them with the skin of animals. Genesis
3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. In Genesis chapter 3, the story
continues with a contrast between the clothes of fig tree leaves and clothes of animal skin.

Perhaps, the history of human beings is the history of clothes of fig tree leave sand clothes of animal skin. The story
of fig tree leaves to cover their shame by their own righteousness, and the story of animal skin where God covered
our shame by God’s righteousness by Jesus dying on the cross and shedding his blood.

Probably this event of fig tree leaves clothes is the representation of showing us in advance of Israelites who weren’t
able to bear fruit. It shows that without death and breaking, we can’t bear fruit.

We can’t go before the Lord with our own righteousness. John 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of
wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

We have become the new Israel through the blood of Jesus. As God called Israel long time ago to save and bless the
world. God wants to spread the fire of God, bless, and save the whole world through the Philippines who are the
new Israel.

This is what I received from the Lord. Don’t forget you and our destiny like Israelites but hold on our nation’s destiny.

Heavenly father let us not forget your calling, this is our destiny, in Jesus name amen.
