Minutes of the 87" meeting of Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification Release of Varieties for Agricultural Crops held through Video Conferencing on 22"'September, 202Land 18" October, 202/under the Chairmanship of Dr. T.R. Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences), Indian Couneil of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Co-Chairman Dr. S.K. Malhotra, Agriculture Commissioner, Govt. of India Member Secretary, Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of Varieties for Agricultural Crops welcomed the Chairman, members and special invitees of the Committee (list of participants attached at Annexure-1) and briefed about the proposals to he discussed ‘The Chairman also welcomed all and highlighted the important of the mecting. Member Secretary requested ADG (Seed) to make presentation on various proposals to be considered by the committee Based on the presentations made by ADG (Seed), ICAR and further discussion over all the proposals individually, item-wise recommendations/approval of the committee is given as under: Item No.l: Confirmation of the minutes of 86"*meeting of Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of Varieties for Agricultural Crops held on 15" March, 2021 The minutes of 86"meeting of Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of Varieties for Agricultural Crops were circulated to all members and also available at the DA&FW Website www.seednet.gov.in. The Committee noted and accordingly confirmed the minutes, ‘The Gazette Notification $.0. No. 2986 (E), dated 20" July, 2021 of the varieties released during 86" meeting have already published and available at huip:/www.egazette.nic.in, Item No.2: Review of the follow up action of the previous meetings of the Central Sub- Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of varieties for Agricultural Crops Member Secretary informed that the following proposal were deferred for want of documents like acknowledgement certificate, submission of seed sample to NBPGR, detailed morphological characters of varieties, AICRP data on diseases and pests reaction, source of material and pedigree, package of practices of the cultivar, DNA fingerprinting profile, A-4 size coloured photographs on glossy sheet ctc. during previous meeting. ‘The sponsoring institutes have submitted the required documents/information. No Release or Notification proposal will be considered by the committee in case the copy of sal is not submitted to ective Director/Project tor. 3. The proposals will be submitted through email (cvre-agri@gov. in). Five signed original hard copies will be submitted to Deputy Commissioner (Quality Control), Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Room No. 116, B, Shastri Bhawan, Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi for records. 4. ICAR Institutes, SAUs and other organizations should devise a naming system of the different crop varieties with the name of Institute followed by crop name and then serial number of variety (e.g. Pusa Mustard 30), Proposals with names of family members, gods and goddesses will not be accepted. 5. Any proposal with more than three years old data in case of central varieties identified by the Varietal Identification Committee and more than five years old data in case of state released varieties will not be considered by the committee. 6. ICAR may constitute a committee involving all stakeholders to review the Guidelines for Bt cotton testing under AICRP for defining the checks and other issues as being followed in other etops. ‘7.
