Minor Program in Physics PH3500 Classical Physics PH3520 Quantum Physics, itis desirable that PH3500 is done prior to taking PH3520 Completion of any two electives at the PHSxxx level (or higher) totaling at least 18 credits ‘Minor Program in Operations Management The following course will be offered as free electives in ODD and/or EVEN semester subject to faculty availability 1. -MS3510 Fundamentals of Operations Research 2, /MS3520 Operations Management 3. M3530 Advanced Operations Research 4. MS3540 Introduction to Game Theory 5. MS3580 Industrial Engineering 6 -MS3590 Decision Models 7. -MS3830 Computer Simulation Any student who credits MS3510 (Compulsory course) and any THREE other courses from the above list of free electives can be deemed to have completed the minor in operations Management from DOMS. Minor Stream in Computational Biology The following are the electives recommended for the computational biology minor. No core course is, prescribed. Four courses (or Minimum 36 credits) from the following will constitute the minor in ‘computational biology: BT3040: Bioinformatics (11 credits) 873051: Data Structures and Algorithms for Biology (11 credits) T5240: Systems Biology (12 credits) T5340: Protein Folding and Stability (9 credits) 'BT5420: Computer Simulations of Biomolecular Systems (9 credits) 8T6210: Statistical Mechanics in Biology (9 credits) BT6220: Theoretical Biophysics (9 credits) 876270: Computational Neuroscience (9 credits) 876320: Protein Interactions: Computational Techniques (9 credits) 817210: Protein Structure and Function (9 credits) Minor Stream in Systems Engineering + Four courses may be taken by the student from the basket of courses specified below + Process Optimiziation will be the mandatory core course © Students are free to choose any of the remaining three courses as electives ‘+ The minor stream is proposed to be open to the Chemical Engineering Students also as the courses under this stream are substantially different from the regular ChE courses Please note that the courses listed below from other Departments are based on the approved list sent by academic section (see email given at the end). Hence it is hoped that the students will not have trouble in registering for these courses. Core Courses CH5170 Process Optimization Elective Courses (Choose 3 courses from this elective basket) CH5120 Modern Control Theory CH5350 Applied Time-Series Analysis CH5230 System Identification CH5440 Multivariate Data Analysis CH5470 Graph Theory & Its Applications in Process Design Courses from other Departments: E5730. Nonlinear Control Design E5241 Robust Optimal Control ‘AS5550. Aerospace Systems Control and Estimation ME7840 Signal Processing of Mechanical Systems ED5330. Control of Automotive Systems (ED5330) EE60001 Stochastic Modelling and the Theory of Queues (Minor stream students will be allowed to register for the course with Consent of the Teacher which will be given to students with the requisite background in probability (EE5110 or equivalent) Minor stream in Biomedical Engineering Minor steam in BME offered by Dept of Applied Mechanics consists of a set of four courses (two core and two electives from the given basket of electives). Students can opt for this minor stream from 6! semester onwards as all courses are offered at 5000 or higher levels. A total of minimum 36 credits can be earned from this minor stream, The list of core courses and lective courses under this stream are given below.
