In this guide I will give a detailed
explanation on what is and how
to use Photoshop. The purpose of

What is photoshop?
Is an Adobe´s graphic design software with the purpose of photo editing and
the creation of images. It uses a layer-based editing system that permits
image altering and creation with different overlays supporting transparency,

another part.

Paintbrush and pencil (B): The paintbrush tool simulates a paintbrush with
different kinds of brushes while the pencil simulates a pencil.

History brush (Y): It lets you paint back in time… since Photoshop keeps track
of the moves you make.
Eraser tool (E): It erases the clicked area.

Paint can and gradient tools (G) : The paint can lets you fill in an area with
the current foreground color, while the gradient tool will create a gradient that
blends the foreground and background tool.

Sharpen, Smudge, and blur tools: The blur tool will blur the area, the
sharpen tool will sharpen it, and the smudge tool will smudge it throughout
the canvas.

Pen tool (P): Used for creating paths and other graphics.
Type tool (T): Lets you type horizontally.

Path tool (A): Lets you move any created paths.

Shape tool (U): Permits you to create different types of shapes.

Hand tool (H): The hand allows you to click and drag around the Photoshop
canvas.

Zoom tool (Z): Lets you zoom in and out.

Important terms
The Start Workspace gives a you an access to recent files, libraries, and presets. You create
and manipulate your photos using various elements, such as panels, bars, and windows.

The Document window displays the file you're working on. Panels help to monitor and
modify your work. “Photoshop layers are like sheets of stacked acetate.” You move a layer to
position the content on that layer, and can also change its opacity.
