1. Fuel prices rapidly increased the past year. This greatly affected the
livelihood of many Filipinos, like jeep and taxi drivers. Most Filipinos who
commute to work are also affected by the increased minimum travel fare.
Because commuting is more expensive, Manolo is thinking of the best
route and mode transportation to use to lessen his expenses. He has two
options to choose from.
Option A:
He can take a jeep that costs Php 20 and a train that costs Php 55.
Option B:
He can take a tricycle that costs Php 15 and a bus that costs Php 50.
However, there is a 7-minute walk from the jeep stop to the bus stop.

Question 3a: What addition equation can we write to represent the total
fare of Option A?
Question 3b: What addition equation can we write to represent the total
fare of Option B?

Question 3c: Which route should Manolo take to lessen his expenses? Why?

2. Manolo and Manila answered their homework for the addition equation
