Lockdown Cardigan Beginner Knitting Pattern Copyright Katie Wilson This is the perfect pattern for a beginner knitter who wants something more ambitious than a scarf. This pattern utlizies budget friendly yarn and the entire garment is made up of only knit and purl stitches. At the end of this project you will will be able to: cast on, work a k1p1 rib, work in stockinette stitch, bind off, and seam a garment together. Youwill need: * 6 balls of Lion Brand Vanna's Choice or Lion Brand Wool Ease in the colour of your choice * One pair of Smm needles (size 8) * Tapestry needle Notes: * Your gague should be 18 stitches by 24 rows on size 8 needles * This piece is worked flat but I recommend using circular needles * For a neater edge | always slip the first stitch purlwise and knit the last stitch of each row The Pattern: C/O 140 stitches using whichever cast on method you prefer (long-tail or cable) Abbreviations: C/O: Cast-on Row 1: K1, P21 until end of row Kl: Knit One Repeat rows 1 for 2 inches Pl: Purl One K row: Knit entire row Knit in Stockingnette stitch for 40 inches P row: Purl entire row + K row (Right Side) S11: Slip one stitch + P row (Wrong Side) B/O: Bind-off Repeat the K1P1 rib for 2 inches B/0 loosley. Fold pice in half with wrong-side facing. Mark 5 inches from the fold Starting with the rib, seam the sides together using the matress stitch.
