Program Notes
Rhythmic vitality is the dominant force. The piece is built upon crystallization of monothematic pitch material
fragments. In addition to the busy polyphonic arguments antiphony is featured throughout. Moods range from
the mysterious to the fervent. The Finale is a folkish dance with original step patterns.
Written in a period of intense productivity, this piece aims to compress symphonic concepts into a chamber
setting.
Performance Directions
The following stage planning is recommended:
First performance: 8th of July, 2012 in the Australian National Academy of Music by the following artists:
Josh Rogan, Allison Wright, Georgia Ioakimidis-MacDougall, Ash Carter, Tim Duncan, Ben Anderson,
