Description of a treasured family possession

Everyone has a certain possession that they would not part with for anything. Mostly
it is a family heirloom. I own an earrings with pink sapphire that belonged to my
grandmother and then to my mother. They were made in the UK during the First
World War and has sturdy rose gold clasp.

The earrings reminds me of my childhood because when I came to my grandmother,

she often showed them to me and said that in time they would belong to me. While
my brother was running over the house, I could talk to my grandmother about these
earrings for hours, she told how my grandfather bought them at an auction to attract
her attention.

When she died, earrings was handed down to my mother. My mother gave them to
me because she doesn't wear earrings. I rarely wear them, but on important days for
me, they give me confidence because of their history in my family.
