BOARD OF ENGINEERS MALAYSIA CIRCULAR NO. 006 ENGINEER'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION (Goneraly also known as soll nvestigation) In exercise ofthe powers conferred by paragraph 4(1)) ofthe Registration of Engineers Act 1967 [Act 138, the Board of Engineers Malaysia hereby determines as flows: 1. Subsurface Investigation (S.1) shall be planned by the Submiting Person after @ sk study and site reconnaissance, including reviewing of all available information of the ste and acjacant areas. The methods of subsurface Investigation and sampling for laboratory tests must slso be adequately specified and be relevant to the geological and the ground conditions. Guidelines can be obtalned from MS 2038 Code of Practice for Ste Investigation and MS 1056 Method of Test fr Sots for Civil Engineering Purposes. 2 Sil. shall be carted out by qualified and experienced personnel according to approved methods. 3.
