What will happen with resistors?
Function of variable resistor

 What will you observe when the resistance value is

increased?
 1.

Rheostat in a circuit

 What will happen when you slide the slider to the left side?

 What will happen when you slide the slider to the right side?

 * What is the disadvantage of the rheostat?

Light dependent resistor (LDR)

 1. What will happen when you close the LDR with your hand?

 2. What will you observe when you light a flash light onto the
LDR?
Soldering tools
 These are used to fix the
components of circuits
when assembling a circuit.
 When electricity is
supplied, the tip of the
tool gets heated. With
this, we can melt a small
amount of soldering lead
(metal) and use that
melted drop of lead to fix
the circuit component.
 When lead is solidified,
the circuit parts are
permanently fixed.
Question

 Name 2 properties of lead that makes it a suitable

metal to use when soldering.

 Why adhesive tape or gum is not a suitable option to

connect parts of circuits?
