FRUITFULNESS: Harvesting and Reaping from All Nations

The fruit of a plant reflects its productivity. Every effort the farmer puts into farming does not

count until he has fruit to show; fruit that is commensurate to the input. The Lord has great

expectations on His investment on us and the ministry he committed into our hands therefore we

need great diligence to act right so as to get the right result.

Fruit is also an end result, effect or consequence of a matter (Rom 7:4-5). The effect of a ministry

is obvious on her immediate congregation and her testimony should culminate into the Sinners’

encounter with Christ at conversion and finding satisfaction among the brethren. The result of

ministry must also have an effect on the community and the society at large in setting the

standards for living by doing what others have left undone. To affect your environment is to

identify the needs both physical and spiritual, and meet the needs. For instance, if they lack

water, your ministry needs to rise up to it. Jesus died for the total man therefore; the significance

of your ministry must cut across the spirit, soul and body.

Fruit can further be referred to as offspring, children or descendants. It is usually a serious issue

in most cultures when a man has problem in bringing forth an offspring, but much more serious

in ministry, if one is l abouring without having generations to point at as coming out of one’s

loins. Ruth held on to Naomi all through her challenging times until she became established in

the land and turned the life of Naomi around for good. Paul made reference to his true sons in

ministry (1 Cor 4:15). Do you have one or some?

We are in the days when many fathers are praying just like David that God should rid them of

evil children. However, you must ensure that you are not the murderer of your sons. We must

invest in prayers and in other means, tread gently and nurture spiritual seeds like mothers do.
Every father must avoid being too narrow-minded, easily angered or infested with several toxic

behaviors that send sons away. Many fathers have chosen to remain Abram when they are meant

to be Abraham: father of many nations. Some men in ministry whose root are no longer touching

water are also bound to loose sons. However, the spiritual dimension on this matter must be

carefully looked into if abortion over spiritual children becomes recurrent. Go in to fasting and

praying, engaging God until you encounter a solution. This is very important because the

continuity of ministry hangs on this.

Fruitfulness is a state of being productive. Your productivity determines the continuity of your

ministry. If you desire a ministry that will continue after you are long dead, it must start now.

Jesus did plan so well for his ministry to continue till date while he was still living. Men in

ministry who love titles and hold on too tightly to control and power will always lose people.

Training must be on going in your ministry. Leaders who pose with the almighty-know-it-all

personality will not retain men because such find it difficult to delegate responsibilities. The men

around such people are weaklings; men like Esau who take their heritage lightly and sell it for

anything. If you have the future of your ministry at heart especially if you have gone half a

century in age, begin to train and start sitting back to see the young stars do it. It takes a very

large heart to do this. I really feel bad when l see servants of God chewing more than they can

bear, it is an element of insecurity which is landing majority in sickness and sudden death, and

this ought not to be.

Fruits come in seasons; each comes in its time. A fruit that is surplus in its season becomes very

scarce and difficult to come by when the season is over. You must know your season and the

timing of your ministry. If you miss out your day, your ministry will suffer and struggle because

days are opened up to individuals. Every minister must be in the know and maximize the day
given. Some have a short time while others are graced for the long term race. Life is in stages

and in turns and the consequence is always grievous when you miss your turn. When the day

breaks for a life or ministry, such individual or ministry is not expected to be found playing. It is

not a time to run into error. Season lost may never be regained in a lifetime therefore it is

important to be very sensitive to your time. While waiting for your turn, do adequate preparation

so you can be fully ready to manifest in your day. When you are ushered into your day, wisdom,

good understanding and knowledge is needed. Some got plenty fruit in their day but lacked

wisdom to handle the harvest so it was short lived.

Fruits are also spiritual and physical evidences or proofs. Ministerial proofs must be undeniable.

These confirm and affirm your call in the hearts of men. There are worthy proofs of ministry

according to 2 Cor 9:13. In the book of Acts 4:16-17, the rulers were to deal terribly with the

disciples but they were cautioned because the man whose eyes were opened was standing as an

open testimony. Since it was an outstanding miracle they were handicapped. Nothing can be

done against the truth but for the truth. Truth has a way it defends itself.

Every plant has a tendency of spreading out of hand as it grows but it is brought under several

processes especially pruning so as to produce adequately and bring much more fruit. Pruning

process involves cutting, thinning, cropping, snipping, lopping, trimming and clipping. If our

best must come out, we must pass through the pruning process as will be determined by the

master. It is the son that the father loves that the father chastises; a child left to himself will

become wild (Jeremiah 31:18-19).

Only the branch that remains firmly attached to the tree has the hope of fruiting hence we are

called to abide till eternity. The supply for survival and fruit bearing is in adherence to the Lord,

his kingdom and principles (Ephesians 4:16). We must be fruitful in the knowledge of God

The importance of gaining deep root in order for the tree to bears fruit must be emphasized. If

your ministry will yield much fruit, we must have total and full grasp on righteousness. 2 Kings

19:30 And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah Shall again take root downward,

And bear fruit upward. When a man is establish in righteousness, his voice will remain strong.

Unrighteousness breaks peoples’ strength but according to Ps 92:13-14, Those who are planted

in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God, they shall still bear fruit in old

age; they shall be fresh and flourishing.

The soil you plant on affects greatly, the fruitfulness of a plant; hence a thorough study on the

earth where you labour is required. Normally, whether intentionally or not, any seed you throw

into the earth grows, even unwanted plants grows naturally. The earth is meant to grow viable

seeds. If you sow a viable seed and it is not bringing forth, it is abnormal and should send a

signal to the sower. The parable of the sower in the bible reveals that the seed was good but the

different types of soil brought forth different results. The soil that was called good still brought

forth in levels of 30:60:100 (Mark 4:20). You need hundred fold yielding hence study your

ground of sowing. There are barren lands, hard grounds, cursed lands and many more. All you

need is to exercise your authority to break the fallow ground.
