Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Course design/Syllabus in GE 7 READINGS IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

Program: Bachelor of Secondary Education; Bachelor of Elementary Education Term: First Semester
Pre-requisites: None Academic Year: 2022-2023

I. CNU Vision: A leading multidisciplinary research university committed to build a strong nation.
II. CNU Mission: To develop high-performing professionals and intellectuals proficient in generating new knowledge toward a progressive and peaceful
pluralistic society.
The CNU mission comprises three mutually reinforcing thrusts: Transformative instruction, researches and strong partnerships.

2. High impact researches that push the boundaries of knowledge in education and contribute to improving communities, and
3. Strong partnerships that collectively and creatively address the development gaps of communities.
III. Program/Degree Outcomes
The BSEd and BEEd degree program aims to act in recognition of professional, social and ethical responsibility. Promote, protect, preserve and conserve “Filipino
historical and cultural heritage and the natural environment”.. Interpret and apply relevant laws related to tourism industry. Moreover, graduates must uphold the
competencies to support development goals of local, regional, national and global arena.

IV. Institutional Outcomes:


1. An ability to participate in the generation of new technology or in research and development projects aligned to local and national development agenda and
goals.
2. Preserve and promote “Filipino Historical and cultural heritage”
3. Facilitator of Learning: A CNU graduate takes on the responsibility of teaching knowledge in the disciple as a holistic process.
4. Design Thinker: A CNU graduate who can apply core skills in literacy, numeracy, scientific literacy, ICT literacy, financial literacy, sociocultural literacy to
every tasks as well as competently respond to complex challenges through resourcefulness, imagination, insight and collaboration to meet current and
emerging needs of society.
5. Protector of nature: A CNU graduate who can assume an unconditional accountability to protect the natural environment through sustainable conservation
practices and firm advocacy.

V. Course Description:
A comprehensive review of the socio-economic, political, cultural and historical development of the Philippines from the ancient times to the present.
Emphasis is laid on the relevant and recurring issues in Philippine history and studies the serious problems that confront the country.

X. Submissions: Failure to submit course requirements on the specified date of deadline would mean unacceptance of outputs and a failing grade on the
identified class requirement. However, valid reasons with proof of evidence may be honored but subject to checking and verification.

XI. Class Attendance:


Attendance is a must. Consequent three lates will be equivalent to a one day absent on the class. Tardiness and punctuality consequence will be subject to
the rules existing in the campus. However, valid reasons with proof of evidence may be honored but subject to checking and verification.

XII. Academic Honesty and Integrity Advisory:


Plagiarism is a serious offense. All work must at all times acknowledge intellectual honesty. Cut and paste will not be honored. Where a material requires
permission from the publisher/author, the same must be strictly followed. Citations should be strictly done.

XIII. Grading System: (Shall be observed college-wide)

Class Standing (Formative and Summative Tests / Group Report/ Assignments) : 60 %


Major Examination (Midterm/Final term) : 40%
Midterm Grade = 60% of Class Standing + 40% of Midterm Examination
Final Term Grade = 60% of Class Standing + 40% Final Term Examination
Final Grade = (Midterm Grade 50% + Final Term Grade 50%)
