Protocol for capital repair of Boiler –1 (CG-667) of CDCP of Coke Oven Battery#11

Date : 15.07.2023 to 16.08.2023

Location: CDCP Boiler #1 of Coke Oven Battery#11

A protocol job is under taken for annual capital repair of CDCP Chamber-Boiler# 1. During the capital repair
jobs to be carried out are servicing, repair, replacement and overhauling of pressure parts, valves & boiler
drum internals. During the execution of above jobs workmen will be exposed to the hazard of entering
confined space, welding, cutting, working at height, material handling, and energy isolation. Responsibility
for execution of job during the capital repair are tabulated bellow.

 Safety precautions:

The following safety precautions to be followed by the working group and to be monitored by DSO (PBS)
1 All IBR related welding jobs shall be carried out by experienced IBR welders only. Welding should be done
very carefully as the area is gas hazard prone area.
2 ISI approved safety harness and other safety appliances such as helmet, safety shoe, hand gloves etc.
should be used by the working group.
3 Jobs are to be carried out round the clock basis, if required.
4 Welding transformer shall be properly earthed. Welding machines must have RCCB/ELCBs.
5 No smoldering objects shall be left at the work spot after the stoppage of work.
6 Oxygen and D.A. /LPG cylinders shall be kept away so that while cutting/welding spark should not fall on
them. Cutting sets must have flash back arrestor.
7 Confined space standards shall be followed while working in confined space
8 Working at height standards shall be followed while working at height
9 Energy isolation standards shall be followed while carrying out energy isolation
10 Persons having valid gate pass for the said job shall be deputed for the work.
