violence and/or of war?

World war, beginning and the beyond, marvel animation, batman.

toys, games etc.] that I remember from my early childhood that included any kind of images

of nonviolence resolution and/or of peace?

High school musical, Winnie the Pooh, Sophia the first, Cinderella, Mickey Mouse

clubhouse, hide and seek.

games, etc. from my adolescence that included any kind of images of violence and of war?

12 years a slave, the magnificent, G.T.A, prison break, street fighters.

Fifa, the decent desire novel, the duff, hide and seek, hop and scotch.

The 911 story, CNN coverage on war in the Middle East, The passion of Christ

movie, The History War magazine, The American Civil War magazine.

newspapers, etc. I have seen in the few years that have included any kind of images of

nonviolence, and/or peace and peacemaking?

We are the world song, where is the love song, the hate you give, war room, Martin

Luther King Jr story.

 In compiling your lists, did you come up with any realization?

Growing up, we all were exposed to different kinds of shows, movies and,

games that greatly influenced how we interacted with other people in terms of

resolving conflicts in either a violent or non-violent manner.

 How does the news shape our perspective on these issues?

The news, being the biggest source of information for most people tends to

shape the thinking and ideology of most of these people. In that context then if the

news features more of violent stories rather than conflict resolution stories then the

masses tend to have a more worried, aggressive and violent mindset but if they show

more of conflict resolution then people tend to have a more relaxed a peaceful

approach to any conflict in their daily lives.

 What challenges exist to our becoming more conscious about choosing

to see, hear and study spiritual, faith-based perspective on these issues?

The challenges that exist are Peer pressure, Technology-our exposure to media

and advanced technology and weak religious beliefs.

 How does popular culture shape our perspective on these issues?

Popular culture has a deep effect on people as many people tend to want to

belong and so their mindset are easily swayed the most current popular culture .In this

context then, if the popular culture tends to lie more on supporting violence rather

than peaceful conflict resolution, then people tend to be more violent.

 Do you think people can become desensitized to violence? In what

ways?

Yes, the ways in which people become desensitized to violence are:

a. Introduction to violence at a very tender age.

b. Continued exposure to violence through the media for a long time.

c. Use of drugs and or abuse of drugs causing delusions while observing

violent images may make one be less sensitive to violence.
