Dear Dr. Uytico: Greetings! “The Easter Samar State University is set to host anew the 6” Intemational Conference on Integrative Disaster Risk Reduction Management on September 3-5, 2019 at the Teatro Ibabawnon, ESSU Main Campus, Borongan City with the theme, “Resilience means Changing Lifestyle in a Changing Giobal Climate.” The conference envisions in bringing together goverment officials, academicians, non- ‘government personnel, environmentalists and other stakeholders on dealing with pemicious effects of climate change. More specifically, it is aimed to attain the following objectives; 1) Collaborate, communicate, coordinate and capitalize on effective climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies such as land use planning, utilization of alternative and renewable energy, among others, in order to limit global warming to safer levels; 2) Embark on studies to improve the resilience of all ecosystems to avert adverse effects on food production, health and economic security and 3) serve as venue in pursuing an enabling environment of change geared toward mitigating the worsening effects of climate change. ESSU Is one of the academic pillars In the region to tackle global issues and concems relative to DRRM and for five consecutive years had established its name as a proactive and consistent advocate against all forms of disasters with the Intent of sharing collective knowledge and experience.
