Chapter Report (summary)
1) Noun Phrase
A noun phrase is group of words consisting of head noun and all
it’s modifiers. The modifiers can come before the noun(premodifiers)
or after the noun(postmodifiers). To make it simple, a noun with any
sort of modifiers is a noun phrase. Noun phrase can function as a
subject, an object or a complement like any noun.

Examples of noun phrases :


- the man with power
- the one with power (pronoun can be the head noun of noun
phrase)
- the great protector
- your mother
- some money
- a terrible day
Examples in sentences :
- the yellow words are the head noun, the other words are modifiers.
- I want to buy a house with a very beautiful view in Tokyo, Japan.
- we’re on our way to glory, where the show won’t ever end.
2) Noun Clause
A noun clause is a clause that functions as a noun, It has a
subject and a verb just like all clauses. Noun clauses can be start with
"that," "how," or a "wh"-word. If you can replace your phrase or
clause with pronun that means your phrase or clause is functioning
as a noun. Noun clause can function as a subject, an object or a
complement like any noun.
Examples of noun clauses :
- my only achievment in life is that I can read with my eyes closed.
- I think I like when it speaks.
- and all that i can do is stop.
- when you say my name, nothing’s changed.
- we’re on our way to glory, where the show won’t ever end.
