COMPETENCIES APPLIED DURING WORK IMMERSION
During our 10-day work immersion, I was able to utilize abilities like communication skills,
where I am able to appropriately transmit information and adjust communication styles to
different individuals, but occasionally, I am finding it difficult to give Doc feedback since I am
unsure of the solution. Since there were only a few of us on the field where we were
assigned, teamwork and collaboration were also put to use during the aforementioned
event. It was not difficult to apply these skills, and it is also important to keep in mind that
doing so was crucial for success. It was also used to organize our time so that we could
complete our everyday tasks. Because we kept up with our attendance and arrived on time,
we also practiced punctuality. Proactivity and initiative were also used, where we see
problems and possibilities, act right away to solve them, and engage in continual learning.
Throughout the 10-day immersion adventure, dependability, reliability, attitude, and
professionalism were demonstrated.

HIGH LIGHTS OF YOUR IMMERSION
As we are deployed to the Rural Health Center, there are so many activities in the
morning, but in the afternoon, fewer patients will go to the RHU. So, the highlight of our 10-
day immersion is just having to entertain some patients or assist some of our colleagues.
During this immersion, my social anxiety improved when I interacted with some patients,
and I learned many things, such as how to plug some decayed teeth in the dental office and
in the laboratory, how to identify if you have a UTI.
It also has a significant impact on my personal development, as a result of which I have
grown personally and made discoveries about myself. I discover more about who I am, my
skills, and my areas for development as I maneuver through different surroundings. I also
learned new skills, gained greater independence, and strengthened my sense of
independence. Additionally, it is one of the nicest experiences I have had during my senior
year and one that I will never forget.

MAXIMIZING OUR TEN-DAY IMMERSION
Setting specific goals, outlining what needs to get done, and effectively managing time are
the first things I do during our immersion. Then I thoroughly immerse myself in the culture
and people around me. It's crucial to take advantage of any chance to try new things and get
to know the locals. I also look for various experiences by engaging in a range of activities and
recording what we get up to.
Furthermore, it is crucial to consider and put it into practice in our everyday lives. I feel the
lessons I've learnt and encountered throughout our immersion to be applicable to both my
personal and professional life. Last but not least, thinking back on the immersion experience
is a highly helpful tool for gleaning important insights and lessons.

DAY 1
A. Orientation and Introduction
Means of Verification
On our first day, we were assigned to the IEC Department, where we are responsible for educating
and informing the patients about a variety of topics, such as how to properly breastfeed a baby,
what they should do to maintain their health for their baby, as well as family planning, advice, and
the meaning of their illnesses, for example, we explain to those who have diabetes how to stay
clearheaded.

DAY 2
B. IEC DEPARTMENT
We experienced a unique situation where the doctor was not available since they were
participating in bloodletting in Tagdaliao, and thus required an other solution. We took the initiative
to roll cotton balls and stuff them with a "OS" (Object/Substance) that was designated to handle this
condition. We were able to complete the requirements and offer support in the doctor's absence
thanks to our creative solution.
DAY 3 and DAY 4
C. DUTY AT THE OPD DEPARTMENT

We were allocated to the OPD (Outpatient Department) on our third day, where we must deal with
some patients who are ill and wish to be checked up.
The fourth day is similar to the third day, but my partner has a different responsibility here. They
must communicate and report any illnesses the patient has, while I take care of their blood pressure
and height and weight.
DAY 5
D. DENTAL DEPARTMENT
Assigned to the dental department at the moment, I help Ma'am Novie with some patient
paperwork and pay close attention to what Doc Franz says so that I can record which teeth will be
extracted.

E. PHARMACY DEPARTMENT
We are assigned to the pharmacy and must help Doc Ferrer and Ma'am Beth decide the medications
the patient will take.

F. LABORATORY DEPARTMENT

Here, we are assigned to the laboratory, and Doc Clarice must explain to us some of the equipment
in the lab and how to test some urine.
DAY 10
G. Field work at Brgy. Limao with all the Departments
On our last day, an expected activity was done. We performed skin test on each other, and it is really
amazing and fun.
